				I bought a Cayenne!

2013 diesel with 153K miles, for $20K. I wanted the good mileage of the diesel. I love it.

I have chatted with a few PCA members at various events that own the diesel , they all say it's a great engine and performs well . Good luck with yours it's a good looking vehicle .

I was looking for a Cayenne a few years ago but ended up with a 2011 VW Touareg TDI.

I've had it a little over 2 years now (has 132K on it now). Love the car but have had issues with the EGR which was luckily covered under the dieselgate extended warranty. Any warranty left on it? I've been getting around 26-27 MPG with it. Thought it might do a little better than that but haven't taken it on an extended trip as yet. Good luck with it.

Look at the Cayenne as a piece of farm equipment, like this Lamborghini. Makes it easier.

Although, the Cayenne could probably equal or exceed a lot of our older 911's in many respects.

I'll answer this but for my wife's Macan S. I daily drive a 996 C4S and own a 356 C Coupe and a few 914's. Have also owned air cooled 911's.

The build quality on her Macan is amazing. It's a 2015, has 70k+ in miles and looks new inside and out. It handles like a well set up sports sedan. It is fast and in sport or sport plus the engine and trans are super responsive. Has an amazing growl to the exhaust. The ergonomics and design are driver focused. It's not the most practical vehicle in it's class by far. The back seat is small, storage is so so. My buddy dailys a 2009 Cayenne GTS. He would say some similar things although the Cayenne has better storage and rear seating. It gives up some sportiness to the Macan. He's a contractor so it works great for him. OP, nice Cayenne, congrats! The diesel intrigues me and they seem pretty rare. I hope it works well for you long term!

You might look into replacing the high pressure fuel pump.

Why does it need to? It's a utility vehicle. probably a very good one.

If you're saying 'Porsche is sports car company that has lost their way', that's very different from 'why would you buy an SUV from Porsche?'.

A few ways. There's a Porsche emblem on the hood. Also on the steering wheel. And it says P-O-R-S-C-H-E on the back.

No trailer hitch, but I don't plan on using one. The performance is pretty good. A gas model might be quicker, but I didn't buy it for that. I haven't tried sport mode yet. That might make a difference. I'm going to be building a cabin in the high Sierra, at 7000 feet, near Bear Valley ski resort, so I'll need a better way to get back and forth than the Tristar.

What's the deal with the high pressure fuel pump?

It's pretty darn spritely, especially in Sport mode. Been driving a 2015 CD as a daily for about 18 months now. 31 on the highway when keeping below 80. NO real complaints other than the seats are only so-so for me. Handles nicely, tows just fine and all-wheel drive is real nice too.
