Need help- gum on Alcantara seat

Looking for suggestions, as the title states, suggestions for getting gum off Alcantara seats..

Backstory, the girl friend just bought a Jag F type and wasted no time getting gum stuck to the seat

Easy enough to get the bulk of it off but does anyone have a product to suggest to get the residue off without damaging the fabric?

Yeah, cold. I have also seen it said that peanut butter recommended ad for getting it or of hair. But I'd be concerned that would attain the seat.

WD40. leave it for a few minutes, pick off as much as possible and wipe off with sponge or clean cloth. Wash with dish soap or detergent to rid of WD 40 after. I have no idea what WD 40 will do to the existing fabric? I think it should be OK?

Maybe reach out for advice on a Subaru SVX forum. Those cars were full of Alcantara and more than likely somebody had to clean a seat, or dash, or steering wheel, or....but before I used something in liquid form to remove the gum, I'd be inclined to try a piece of tape. Maybe scotch tape at first try then work up to maybe duct tape. Stick a piece on, rub it down then peel it off. See if the gum will stick to the tape.

Any janitorial supply will have a "quick freeze" spray in a can that is used to remove gum from carpets and upholstery. looks like this:

Some friends had gum stuck to a seat last February. They park the car outside in the zero degree temps and the gum just came off with little effort.

I have heard of people using dry ice (wearing gloves) and the gum comes off.

Thanks all for the suggestions! Probably start with the freezing. Hopefully comes right out with no further issues.

I like the dry ice idea. Water may discolor the material, doubtful carbon dioxide would.

The good news is that Alcantara is synthetic (not leather or any animal product) so I would assume it should be more color stable than leather.

I'd help if I could but don't know the first thing about getting gum out of alcantera. I will warn you the last time I peed on a seat it left a stain.

I've got a spray bottle of secret sauce called "GOO GONE" from the hardware store. Says not to use on leather, but it does say it removes gum, among a list of other things. Smells like a citrus cleaner.

I've used peanut butter to get sticky stuff and oil based stuff off before. A buddy and I were at an air show years ago and he got some oil goop on his boots. Peanut butter took it right off.

I share the concern about the oil in peanut butter in this instance though. It may leave a stain or discolor it darker.

There are variants of this miracle stuff.

Goof Off is more harsh, IIRC, and seems more like a real chemical type of cleaner. Goof Off is the go to cleaner for Soldiers when getting gear ready for turn in. It usually gets any job done but be careful.

Goo Gone is the citrus smelling one and is much milder.

FYI for future reference there is a book called “My Boyfriend Barfed In My Handbag” that is a guide to removing anything from any other thing.
