Overall yes, but I would be disappointed if my American V8 had those issues. Porsche? That's typical. Chevy V8? They are supposed to go 300,000 miles or more.

This thing, particularly in Z07 form, looks good and sounds fantastic.

The only angle I can think of where it isn't bad is when it is out of my field of vision.

They aren't bad, just generic and they don't look like a Vette.

I wish they still made the Viper.

If anyone around Los Angeles wants to see the very first 2023 z06 coupe on display, the guys at the Motoring Club have one in their space. Reach out to them before swinging by as their 'clubhouse' is for members only.

Michael, the owner, is a great guy and will likely accommodate the request.

C6GS starts to look like the bargain to me and still almost 2x the power of my exige. Still I dream of an LS7 in my life at some point.
Thanks, I get a lot of compliments about the color.
I went down the modify rabbit hole with my old SC. I vowed not to do it again.
My car is fast enough for me.

Affordable, track-capable, durable and satisfying before modifications. The list of those cars is pretty short.

lol I'd say you have a HUGE step up from even a heavily modified SC. I think I will move on from my SC in the near future as well into either a C6Z or C7 GS. They are just amazing cars all around.

Is he getting it for MSRP? There's a couple of BIG sellers doing it for that.

I think a set of great Forgeline wheels might help C8 aesthetics quite a bit.

How are we not talking about it? It has amazing performance, but look at it, not the prettiest car out there.

And it is built by the General.... Having put some exhausts on a couple of C8s and done a couple alignments.... typical GM car.... Not that this is a bad thing, just not in the same realm as the Porsches that brought us to this forum.

YMMV

So they’ve made a mid engine V8 Corvette that sounds like a Ferrari with its mid engine V8. Ok.

Remember when the Honda bois raged on about the highest H. P. Per liter? That was 240 hp out of a 2.0 that made zero torque and was not a fun car on the street. The power factor was 1.20 HP per liter. GM just made 1.26. I assume it will have torque.

Torque

Jim, I think that I read or heard that the torque is the same as the current 6.2Liter or about 460 Lb-ft

yes but at 6300. a shorter final drive and 8 gears will help the lack of torque feeling.

They are chasing a spec sheet instead of driving fun to me. They chase a tenth here or there on the track for all out performance, but they gave up the classic styling and for me they are swapping fun out for absolute performance. It is a very capable car, but so are a lot of others out there.

I think I am very close to making the decision to sell the 911 and the Mustang and look at either a C6 Z06 or C7 GS...

I love the 911 but it can't be what I want it to be, I think the Corvette can offer a lot more compared to the 911.
