California bound, what to do?

Pasadena itself is a worthy destination, you could spend the whole time there and have a great trip. The Arroyo neighborhood around the Rose Bowl, San Marino, old Pasadena...it's all just gorgeous and interesting. Great roads, as well.

I think that the list of things to see has some good picks but I've always said that the death of a SoCal trip is trying to see too much in a short time and spending all of the trip in traffic, shuffling around. The Los Angeles area is huge, beyond belief for people from smaller cities and towns. There is a lot of beauty but also a lot not worth seeing and you will see all of that if you're on the freeway the whole trip.

Malibu, for instance, is a beautiful place but unless you are already on the westside of L.A., it's a looong drive to get to. Even from parts of WLA, it's at least half a day to drive out there and back, if you go all the way out to Zuma. If you PM me, I'll send you my cell number and you can call me when you are here for any last minute advice on locations. I am currently driving for Uber in L.A. and know the various ETAs better than I'd like to.
