Any minivan. Late 80s, early 90s it seemed I spent forever stuck behind the slow SOBs in traffic.

Shifter 11-11-2021 04:25 PM

Late 70's Oldsmobile. Diesel...

One thing is certain: there's been no shortage of crap cars over the decades.

And that's without anyone yet mentioning the Yugo.

On a Rental Car, I once rented an HHR around 2006. I have never driven a more ponderous handling car. Thank god I only had to drive it 2 days.

I was surprised by the same thing. I don't know if I drove an SC1 or SC2 or whatever, they all looked the same. The one or two that I drove felt like you were driving a dump truck or something, it was insane how bad they were. And now that I think about it, the one time I've ever been in a mustang II, the ride was the same. I would think they'd have had to try to get the ride that bad.

Or a Hyundai Veloster.
I somehow forgot about that steaming pile of crap I bought for my son. It was going on its third engine in less than 40,000 miles.... before it got magically turned into a Toyota Highlander.

flatbutt 11-11-2021 05:02 PM

My Chevy Vega. Not only a PoS but Chevy denied every warranty claim I made. Even when that crap aluminum block cracked...at less than 30,000 miles.

I think the lesson to be learned here is, never buy a car with a name that begins with Ve. Nothing good can come from it.

I had an X-11 with manual trans and 2.8L, 6-cyl. It wasn't nearly as bad as the Olds Omega (same platform) with slushbox trans and 2.5L 4-cyl. When I was 15-16, we had a 1976 chevette with a 52hp 1.4L. It was cream with wood-look sticker on the sides. It was worse than the X11 which wasn't that bad (buckets, gauges, stick, bucket seats, 6-cyl).

Every car with a CVT is my least favorite. There, I said it.

jcwade 11-11-2021 06:04 PM

I once rented a Ford Aspire as I just needed basic transportation while out of town.
I drove it 3-5 miles and went back to the agency and upgraded.

What it Aspired to be was a car.

I'm more curious what the OP's angle is?
1st post, hasn't been back since.
What a strange introduction.

,,,or not.

Jims5543 11-11-2021 06:45 PM

Anything with Audi in the name.

Total Garbage.

Owned 2 and the second be being a lease. The way the selling dealership, and out of town dealerships, screwed with me when the car was constantly breaking down was enough to make me hate Audo so much I hate VW and Porsche too.

F them all.

78 Ford Ranchero.
The 400 2bbl was a gutless gas pig.
Had it 3 months because it took 3 months to resell it.

Yugo, early 90’s me stationed in Germany. Somewhat cute girl i knew in Germany, this was her car. What a total piece of crap. She wasn’t cute enough for me to ride in that thing for long. Did I mention it was a total crap box?
A close second a Geo Metro, a not at all cute girl at the last place I was stationed out west, she hit a full grown bull (open range grazing in the summer). Completely and I do mean completely totaled that POS. The bull walked away initially, dropped dead at the side of one of the 2 roads that went to town. At least he took out that POS car on his way down...
