Anyone up in Salem, OR.?

I’ve found a truck up there to replace the one that was stolen, pretty much going to pull the trigger on it. Just wondering if there is anyone close who could do a quick look for me? TIA as always.

If I get my original truck back, (I’m very doubtful), I’ll sell one or the other.

I'm tempted, but it's over an hour's drive for me. Is the truck worth a PPI? I coujld call a friend there, see if he could give me a name of a good indy wrench..

Thanks, Paul. I've spoken to the mechanic who serviced it in recent times and also the guy who did an inspection of it recently, (does OR. have state inspections?), I feel pretty good about condition since it's represented as needing a few items.

I was just looking for someone to put eyes on it and the title before I send any $$ or jump on a plane to get it. It's not worth a long drive for you.

Oregon used to have smog inspections in the heavily populated urban areas, but not in the rural counties. Think I read that even those have been dropped now, but don't hold that as gospel.

Where I live, I've never had to go through a car inspection.

Oregon still requires vehicles 75 and newer to get through DEQ smog inspection.

I don't know of any inspectors not employed by the state, and I don't think they would comment on sale condition of a vehicle.

I've bought new tags for my '09 Mustang several times now...never asked for a smog check. No check station in my county...evidently still required in the Portland area and others.
