The Fit has a newer type of v-tech that works across most of the rpm range.
My Prelude's (98) v-tech only works when the rpm's hit 5K and up.

I racked up 325k on an old 92 BMW E36. Great feeling to know you got your money's worth and then some. Congrats

I also own a Prelude w/nitrous....the Fit is just as much fun to drive. Maybe more...because it's unlikely to get a ticket.

The old adage 'There's no substitute for cubic inches' holds true, even with your nitrous powered Prelude.

Thanks...yes, this car owes me absolutely nothing. Couldn't be happier with it.

Shortly after I bought it...I installed an Alpine head unit with separate amps for the front, back, and the Kicker Subwoofer.
Replaced all the door and dash speakers with Alpines.

The thing shakes at quarter volume...I love it. :) (the rear view mirror is useless at half volume)

Daily is a 2000 Lexus RX300, has 297,000 miles on it but I just replaced the engine. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...692d124e69.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...de2c85e586.jpg

^^^Looks great for that many miles!
You must not live in the rust belt!

flatbutt 11-18-2021 12:36 PM

Had to put mine down Oct 2020 due to very very bad rust at 225K.

The rust will prob get mine after this winter. The bottom door pockets are starting to show brown.

She is Fit...just multi-miled.

Why so much driving in that car?
Company car?

I see no reason that car shouldn't get that. Our minivan will get low 30s on road trips. His engine has very little to move, skinny(ish) tires and a small hole to punch through the air.

Thanks! I did a lot since purchasing it at 140K miles. Almost all interior fixes.
That pic is from this summer before I added a draw-tite towing hitch.

I now use a swagman bike rack with the hitch.

The title should have said.....'pics included' :D

Also, I should add that Carvana offered me $200 for the car.
I've a new Civic on order for replacement.

My Jetta TDI has about 265k now. I bought it with 24k on the clock.

Still runs like a champ and gets 44 mpg

stevej37 11-18-2021 01:33 PM

^^^ That is great! Is it gas? I don't know much about the TDI's.

I once owned the first year Jetta. It was a two-door and it was a great car. I think it was early 80's?

SCadaddle 11-18-2021 01:40 PM

It's been my experience that just using the "mileage minder" or what the computer on the dash is telling you with regard to fuel mileage is more than likely optimistic. Putting pencil to paper miles traveled at a fill up on my 05 Subaru Legacy Wagon it's almost always right at 90- 92% of what the "mileage minder" indicates.
