You ever had a biopsy?

You ever had a biopsy?
I went to my dermatologist for a biopsy for a skin condition that is the equivalent of dying by a thousand needs. Like full body shingles I guess.
Anyway, I had no idea what to expect.
He has me lay down and rolls over a tray of tools. Pulls out a syringe gives a poke in my side. I'm like, great, freezing it is good. He turns around and grabs a scalpel and tells me to tell him if it hurts. Holy f##k batman! I've never had pain like this. SOB never gave it anytime for the freezing to take effect. He basically cut into me like cheaking a perch!
Blood running down my side and he's still digging in. Now he starts to cauterize the wound and luckily the freezing was now working.
Nothing like the smell of burning flesh in the morning!
Sadistic b#stard.

Yes, several, the most dangerous was the one done on my left lung to see if there was really cancer in there. I was put to sleep fortunately, but I had a sore chest for a week or so. Generally, if the doctor wants a biopsy, they are pretty worried about something.

That doesn't sound right to me. Wait until you have a prostate biopsy. You'll probably just want to have them go ahead and kill it so you don't have to do it again.

Up your rectum and thru the wall of your bowel to get @ your prostate with the nipper droid. The sensation while it was chewing off a hunk was surreal and it HURT.

Absolutely insist on a "white tornado" before hand to clean you out.
A friend didn't get that "option" and ended up with E-Coli after the procedure.

Had a needle biopsy in my neck about 20 years ago. First doc was pitiful and couldn't get it done.

Second Doc just said, suck it up and it will be quick, no numbing. It didn't feel good but he got it done in seconds.

I had one for a cyst in my mouth. Not fun, but it was benign, so I sleep better now.

Due to my misspent youth on surf boards, kayaks and rafts, I have had more than a few...all skin related.

My dermatologist, I see her every 4 months, is really good at not scrapping without pain stuff unless she has to for analysis reasons.

Got to do it, Rod!

BTW, am I the only one here who would hit Aunt Voula like a Patriot Missile?

patriot missile, you mean at night, when she's not really expecting it on her way to some place in Israel?

Yeah, I had that prostate biopsy. The tool had multiple needles to take tissue samples from all parts of the prostate. They enter through your "t'aint" that space between the rectum and your privates. Luckily I brought a stick to clamp my teeth onto to stifle my screaming.

Multiple biopsies for skin cancer that were non-events. Worst part is always the first shot. New dermatologist is pleasingly generous with the numbing agent.

Just two - different times - same arm (left) due to small growths that looked "strange." Dr used some sort of numbing agent that also appeared to cause the area to swell a little? - then a simple razor blade to slice the a sample off. Both biopsies came back benign and Dr on a later visit froze each of them.

I had a little red mark on my chest, about 20 years ago. I pointed it out and the doc did the freeze and scrape. Came back benign.

Prostate biopsy---what fun. It felt and sounded as if they were using a hole punch to take the samples. When I made that comment to my Urologist he said "that's basically what it is!".

Also---he was having trouble with the initial probe insertion (or should I say I was...?) and as I squirmed he said---"maybe I should use the smaller probe". I was like....dude! why didn't you start with the smaller one? Ouch. But it had to be done, so I had it done.

I had a prostate biopsy in 2015 that confirmed cancer . Caught it early and all is good . My biopsy doc was a real pro I didn't feel anything during the procedure . But was quite sore for a few days after .

I've had several. The prostate was done while I dreamed of naughty nurses. Like Seahawk I've spent too much time in the sun so my skin has been frozen and scraped many times. The polyps in my colon...well thank goodness for that white stuff they pump into my arm first.
