FIRE! Wait, nevermind.
It's soggy today because yesterday was a gray drizzly day, and this morning was foggy and drizzly too. So imagine my surprise when I look out the window and see what must be a 30'+ tall fire. The fire is in the direction of the nearest freeway overpass. There's also a small area in the same spot where they sometimes stage gravel for nearby road works.
I called the county sheriff's office and was told that today had a controlled burn going on. It's probably a good day for that. I think it's supposed to continue to be gray and drizzly for the next several days.

I'm curious about exactly where this is, but not curious enough to take the cover off of the car, drive over there and then have to wait for the cover to dry off to put it back on the car, especially since it's supposed to rain for the next 3-5 days. I believe the controlled burn is in one of the areas inside the red circle. Our little slice of heaven is in the blue area.
