Self-absorption. Some people only want to talk about one thing....THEM....and will steer every conversation that way.

Here is a magic trick you can do to improve your status with others: As them about themselves. People love those questions.

Also, people who are incurious and closed-minded. Some folks make their minds up, then gather the information they need to support their positions. No curiosity. No considering of new facts. No learning.

Lots of times I will use self deprecating humor, to mock my own sense of being pretentious..Right now do not feel like dong that because it detracts from the seriousness of what I have to say.

What I find to be snake like are those who use manipulation on a personal level. You can not trust those people, where you have to watch evey word you say lest you become vulnerable to them.
