I REALLY want to see it.

I know lots of folks think KR isn't much of an actor, but I like him. And I'm hoping this new episode is really good. The previews certainly look good.

stevej37 12-15-2021 01:14 PM

I'm glad to see that Mr. Anderson is back...an excellent villian.
What about Fishburne??

Steve Carlton 12-15-2021 04:27 PM

Streams on HBO Max as well when it opens Dec 22nd. Yay!

He’s one of those guys that molds the part to himself rather than himself to the part.

I'm really looking forward to this...

And I'm really glad they brought back Carrie Anne Moss. :)

^^^ Too bad they couldn't get Fish back.
Morpheus won't be the same.

"I have not been invited,” he explained. “Maybe that will make me write another play. I wish them well. I hope it’s great."

Well... It was good. Great in parts but it was also repetitive in others.
Interesting story arc with some original ideas and it's a lot better than I thought it would be.

Well worth seeing on the big screen.

stevej37 12-27-2021 11:34 AM

I thought is was ok...but a bit of a letdown. The fight scenes and special effects were no better than the original...should have been better.

Fish was missed.

Shaun @ Tru6 12-27-2021 11:47 AM

saw it last night. it was ok. one gem was the writers knew the last movie sucked and that in an offhand or backhanded way wrote that into the script.

Would rather watch the original again than this one.

sc_rufctr 12-29-2021 07:16 PM

I saw it again last night and I enjoyed it. A second viewing helps clarify the story.

I kept thinking most of the cast would have been really young or not even born when the original was released.
Jessica Henwick as Bugs was a real stand out IMO.

However it looks like the YouTube amateur critics don't like the movie. The same thing happened with "The Last Duel" and that bombed big time. But "No Time To Die" is set to become the most successful movie of the year: 774 million USD world wide right now!

It's a great Bond movie but as far as most successful? Not really even close. It's 4th worldwide currently, and already $500 million behind Spider Man.

It was like 3 different movies glued together. We turned it off after each one, and had to put an effort into turning it back on again.

Minutes 0-30? Movie Concept #1
Minutes 31-91? Movie Concept #2
Minutes 91-151? Movie Concept #3

First was a self-conscious mind-f##k parody, second was an intellectual examination of self or truth or whatever, third was an action movie.

Oops yes... I forgot about "Spider Man: No Way Home". I haven't seen it but my son has and he said it was brilliant!

Number two is: The Battle at Lake Changjin (Chinese, never heard of it)
Number three: Hi, Mom (Again Chinese and never heard of it)

EDIT: The Matrix Resurrections is number 55 @ $68,700,000 - Not great but not bad either.

I have tried to watch them, but just have no interest.

If you try again...just watch the original 'The Matrix'
If I were rating the four movies....I would give them a 5-2-2-3 out of 5 stars.
(in order of the movies)

Shaun @ Tru6 12-30-2021 07:04 AM

I would say 5-4-0-3

I give a 4 to the second mostly because of the massive Agent Smith scene.

stevej37 12-30-2021 07:10 AM

I might have to watch 'Reloaded' again.
I've only seen it once...but the 'The Matrix' I've seen at least 6 times.

The Matrix movie series is a modern film based analogy of transgender life; take the red pill and live your trans life in the truth as the gender you feel you are or take the blue pill and live in the alternate reality as the gender your not.
There was a huge argument about Neo in the writing of the film, original plot was in the Matrix she is a he, in the alt reality he is a she. To make the movie sell Neo is a she in both worlds.
Enjoy your popcorn, don't choke.
