Uncanny as all get out. So, I had not heard anything about this car situation today and was writing a post in this thread about it and how I didn't want to bug Mr. Todd about the car and was about to ask what you guys would do in a situation like this, and low and behold, he texted me telling me that he had messaged the man that he had sold the car to and had not heard anything yet. I asked if I could call him and he said yes so, we had a very nice conversation about the car. He is a very nice person and a British car nut, his words not mine. He gave me the name of the man he sold the car to, said he didn't have a phone number but would continue to try to reach the man. We had a great talk and he said he could hear the passion I have for this car and he would continue to try to get in touch with the guy and will stay in touch with me. The man's name is Jay Flowers and he is in Thomasville, Georgia. So I may try to look him up on Facebook. I don't have Facebook but my daughter can look him up. Baby steps!!!

$2800 doesn't seem too bad. Of course, there are a lot of "ifs", but I suspect just about anything on these can be fixed or replaced. It's not like they're an old Ferrari or Lambo or something where 90% of the parts are NLA. (I'm assuming)

Right. I am trying to stay level headed with this. Bottom line is, it's just a car, and car that needs work, a project, but it does have tons of sentimental value, just gotta stay calm, level headed and try to remember, it's just a car.

I'd say that's absolutely accurate.

When you get it back, you definitely need to convert it to an EV and paint it green! EVs are awesome and practically fireproof!

In some ways, I'd love to have my first car back, but also not really. What I want is a good version of my first car, not the actual car. I'm sure it's rusted to bits in a junk yard by now.

I think a hydrogen fuel cell TR6 would be the way to go.

Well... she's all mine again!!! I talked with Mr Flowers for about 45 minutes on the phone this morning and after hearing my story of this car, he said I needed this car, then asked if I wanted the car? Of course I said yes I would Love to have the car back and asked what would it take to get the car? I never asked what was paid or what the car sold for. He told me that he paid $2500 for the car and that was all he wanted out of it. So, I got the car for $2500 bucks and it comes with a couple of extra fenders and a passenger side door. I am making arrangements to pick the car up in a few weeks. Mr Flowers and Mr Todd are super cool people and they both just really wanted me to have my car back after all these years!!! My plan for the car you ask? To restore it back to a nice driver condition at the very least and enjoy the car again. I will put a Monza exhaust system back on the car and I would love love love some triple Webbers, but that will come in due time. The Monza exhaust I installed on the car back in the day made it sound awesome. I'll be researching things of course, there may be better equipment out there now than what was available in 1984. [emoji1787]
I am amazed that I only saw the messages from Mr Todd last Thursday, the messages were from September. I was able to get in touch with him fairly quickly and with his help was able to connect with Mr Flowers and secure the car. It only took 5 days. Crazy stuff!!! Car guys are awesome!!!
I wish I knew which pelican who sent Mr Todd the link to this thread. Huge thanks to them for doing so as they played a crucial part in my being reunited with my old Redcoat!!!

Great news. If you can get over there sooner if might be better. Things happen. Once in your driveway you know you did it. I'd send the money along with sales agreement. Make an excuse that you need paperwork for registration. I've done this.

Owned 2 Triumphs, a 69 GT6 + and a 72 TR6. The TR was a pos (bought from a used car lot) that let me down repeatedly. The last time with a failed clutch. The GT6 however was a great car.
