The lighter yellowish areas are the weathered faces, the gray is the color of the unweathered rock itself. reminds me of the view from Grampa's house, He built on top of his mountain w/ a view across the Keene valley of Mt Monadnock, mornings were spectacular when there was a low cloud deck in the valley

Here’s a map showing the distribution of outcroppings of Onondaga limestone. No idea if this is the stone in question but this kind of information will be available for pretty much any rock that is expressed on the surface in a particular area.
Take a few close-up pictures of the stuff and visit a couple rock suppliers and I’m sure they can figure it out.
