that is crazy. how exactly were they tracking speed?

i built a Talon in college. it was a slope racer. same style as this one. i couldnt fly it without blowing it up into a pile of balsa chips. but an older dude, creepy older dude, took the controls and sent that thing past our heads at probably 100 mph. mt Tam in Marin county. blew my mind!!

the older guy was trying to help a friend learn the controls..there was an odd amount of touching..not "those arent pillows!" level, but enough for us to pack up and leave. i never flew my talon. my friend crashed it, and i fixed it an hung it up for years.

Wow, that was insane. I'd love to see that in person. what was impressive was that the wings dint' fall off. Also, probably as or more impressive than the speed was the way they were able to land it.

I can only imagine that this wasn't their first time flying.
