Add the easy returns to the mix and that's how you level the playing field.

You can often see "also available from the following sellers" and some will be prime, some won't, some will have slower shipping (different stocking warehouse) and the prices vary, often with several being within pennies of each other and then usually some others that are priced really high compared to the others.

A few years back, I signed up for the Amazon Prime cc.
I always pay the entire balance each month...but on purchases it gives me 'cash back' to apply to the price.
It always surprises me as to how fast it accumulates.

No annual membership fee.

No packaging no printouts just scan the phone and dump the lot to the local UPS for return ...

Prime return...Amazoning!

I placed two diff orders today using Prime. Both said delivery would be tomorrow.
We had a snowstorm this morning and the roads are layered with snow and ice.

Will be surprised if they arrive on time.

And I'd be completely fine with that. I have no problem with real issues causing delays, that's realistic and makes sense. I have no desire for folks that don't need to be on the road during dangerous conditions, being on the road.

I thought I'd check the tracking....
It says both packages left Romulus (Detroit) at 12:01 this am.
It's a 3.5 hr drive to here, so they should arrive easily today.:)

stevej37 01-25-2022 09:06 AM

It's here....one day after ordering. Excellent.

Prime return...Amazoning!

I learned something new this week about returns.

I had purchased a pair of Skechers Go Walks a while back. They just didn't seem to match up when compared to my other Skechers so I decided to return.

Had all the original packing including the shoe box all in perfect shape. Printed the scan code and taped it to the box.

When I brought it in to the UPS Store, was told they had to be boxed up in a shipping box. The lady showed me on the four corners of the scan little boxes than indicated this (I don't remember reading it any where in the return instructions).

I was hoping she would say "You know what - we have plenty of extra boxes here - happy to give you one." but in reality it was "We can do it but it will be $11." So I said I have plenty of boxes at home so will be back. I walked out and there was an abandoned shopping cart on the sidewalk with a box in it so I grabbed it and walked back in. I still got charged $1.07 for then to tape it up but cheaper than having to bring it back later.

Prior to this I never had to box anything up unless it contained a rechargeable battery.

$139/year...new rate.
Still worth it for me.

I have a personal Prime account to get the video access and tons of free TV shows.

I also have a Prime Business account. It is free, so no up front costs, but no video service. The business account has further discounts on many office products.

A Sunday afternoon delivery...great!

Paying 25% more for no additional value ... what’s that ?

stevej37 02-07-2022 12:04 PM

When I take into account...free shipping and unlimited Prime streaming videos...yes it's worth the rate increase.
Netflix raised their price making the Prime increase a wash.
