You're right Stijn. The one big problem with fixed cameras... People speed between them.
But I have given enough money to the Gumbit over the years and I have no desire to give them anymore so I don't speed... Ever! |
and that is typically fixed with trajectory control
they are doing away with speed cameras here, and put TC in place Drive through gate 1 6 miles down the road Drive through gate 2 presto, average speed is known and you get ticketed I actually like it because all the idiots drive constant 120kph on the clock if they get held up by a truck for 2 miles.. they go back to 120kph their average is then 105 at the end First, I drive on the actual GPS speed so no speedo error Second, I use the allowed error correction on the TC (+6%) - 1 kph for safety margin So basically 1+2- I drive 130 on the clock 126GPS Lastly , If I get held up by a truck, I can catch up the difference My goal is an average of 126 on the GPS over the entire TC the nice thing is.. All them idjuts blocking the left lane.. They cannot speed up to block me on overtakes.. well they could cause they drive under the average.. but they think they will magically get ticketed by the trajectory control at the end... so they don't. I personally think it's much safer to have a speed difference to the rest, because that keeps you active and awake if you drive 50 miles.. and you drive the 50 miles doing the exact speed as the one in front of you, left of you, right of you and behind you you will be part of a cluster and the view outside your windshield will not change for 50 miles. You will not be an active driver, you will not be looking ahead. It dulls people to the lowest common denominator , and trust me, it's very low in terms of awareness and driver ability I'de rather be speeding a bit, and be active.. then to become a passenger to my own unconscious auto pilot routine |

The plan does not limit the massive spending on surveillance to fixed cameras or even those that only enforce speeding. According to Secretary of Transportation, the purpose of speed limit cameras is largely to create "equity" among those getting tickets as certain groups tend to get a disproportionate amount of traffic tickets. Of course, studies show that those same groups get an even more disproportionate number of tickets in places where speed/signal enforcement cameras are already in use.

The real fun starts when there's an exit in the middle We have one 11km apart, with an exit/onramp at 6.. There is no TC gate at 6.. Now think about the implications of that And how fast a Cayman goes, it's great fun on early sunday mornings  |

One of the most beautiful roads in Europe and as Top Gear would say... in the wooooorld http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644086885.jpg https://www.google.com/maps/dir/48.4944241,8.2492595/48.7405637,8.2581338/@48.5263706,8.1895212,11.92z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0 Had driven there, just for that road, arrived at 4 AM.. no traffic no nothing Enabled Beastmode but my Waze didn't warn me bout the Fotofinish at the end :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644086210.jpg 165 euro and a month driving ban in Germany (which is no biggie since i rarely go to Germany anyway) the High score has since been improved in Belgium, and that was way more costly (and the 15 day ban is effective since I live here) Bimforce 1.20 has been a costly little car.. no engine noise, but 400 nm torque.. it never felt as fast when I was going fast. in comparison, the Cayman is much faster, but you just know you are doing silly things because of the noise behind you.. Never had any tickets in the Cayman and it's not that the Bimmer is the only one that speeds.. contrary even You got 165 bucks for 8 over the limit ?!??!?!? and 2 points !?! Whaaat Speednazis much? here, 6 over the limit is not even billed, that's the error correction 68 would be a 2 over the limit fine, that would be 55 euro |
