Wednesday it's Canada vs US in women's hockey . Our ladies will have to have a stellar performance to pull off the win but we all know anything is possible . I wish them the best .

With the Czechs and Fins giving them so much trouble i fear they may not weather the Canadian onslaught too well. Our women put a lot of rubber on goal but far too few find the twine.

Gotta say I'm pretty disappointed with NBC's coverage. I wanted to watch Women's Downhill last night but it never was on nor did they give a time before I went to bed around 1am central time.

Plenty of coverage of X Game events though.

At first I thought it was odd that they would take down NBCSN only a month before the Olympics but now I get it. It is a forcing function to get more people to subscribe to Peacock. The Olympic Channel is nothing but Olympic headline news. Also plenty of times were NBC and USA are showing the exact same event.

Downhill was delayed due to high wind.

I have been trying to record some events and in many cases what I record isn't what was supposed to be on at that time. Pretty frustrating.

It was run at some point, possibly 16 hours ago. I know the results but won't spoil for anyone here.

I will point out that a wee bit of the replay may have been deleted due to the crash of one skier. I saw it live and her distress was quite disturbing so they cutoff the live feed. Painful in the extreme but not life endangering.

They finally put it on around 5:30 central time on USA today. Luckily my DVR was able to rewind live TV.

Imagine...60 minutes of regulation hockey, then the frantic OT followed by 5 rounds of shootout...then you lose.

The old Olympic saying comes to mind ....... the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat .

I'm not a fan of the shootout. I think it's ok in the prelims but not in the elimination rounds. Play till you drop!

Canadian men lost to the Swedes and are out of the tourney.
Oh well. Not the team they were planning to send.

AFAIK the NHL said NO! this time. I'm OK with that. The Games should be played by amateurs.

Mikaela Shiffrin unfortunately had another " ski out " in the combined . This just wasn't her Olympics . She will participate in the team event on Saturday .

I was just reading about that! That girl is in a funk. But good for her for trying to work her way out of it. It shows what kind of person she is that she isn't just saying f it.
