I seem to recall Howard and Gard had some serious words courtside last year that resulted in another issued apology from Howard, so it appears that there is bad blood between them for whatever reason. If Howard was furious about the late game time outs, he seems to forget that he implemented the same timeout strategy on a recent road win at Indiana. In the end, I think he just can’t control his frustration that UM’s performance this year has failed to live up to the media’s pre-season hype. As an Illini fan, I’m obviously not losing any sleep over the team’s record, but I hope for the sake of the young men on the team, their leader can overcome his personal challenges. |
Well said.

I think it’s terrible behavior by all involved. I don’t know the history between these two head coaches so I’ll stop acting like I do. I just think I’ve seen worse is all. Bobby Knight is the one who comes to mind.

Did Bobby Knight ever smack the other team's coach?

No, he smacked one of his players. Much worse in my opinion. |
Fair enough.

I will now be cheering against that coach at every turn.
What an asshat. |

He should be fired!
I don’t think it would be getting the same kind of press. It would have been chalked up to men being men in the heat of the battle.

Yeah, it would be getting waaaaaaay more press and the white coach would be cancelled immediately.

Absolutely not kidding. |

It was emails(plural) and they were pretty disgusting in nature. |
So was slapping another coach.

I agree although physical disputes happen in sports. Referring to someone as the N word doesn’t.
