The Commendable FINT
What Fint has done in his life is commendable, he came up from having little to nothing and by putting the pedal to the metal has achieved a healthy modicum of success. By comparison of perseverance and determination on this Board almost all of you are pansy's by comparison. Yet by the standard of pre Great Depression of the 30's America his efforts still would not have been good enough. The American worker of that epoch was in almost inextricable poverty. A survival mode of living hand to mouth with virtually nothing left over. It was a grim life, where the saying in the automobile industry in 1949 was, "To old too work and too young to die."
It was only the circumstances after WW2 that created the broad based MC in America. One that suddenly had a MC where with all to become consumers. Yet the salient point is that with that where with all came an era of having unprecedented opportunity to succeed that had not previously existed. Where the diligent person could achieve a healthy modicum of success. An abundance of wealth in a nation can do that for you. This abundance of wealth has unfortunately led to the perceptual mindset of entitlement to opportunity and even success as being a given. Where American have become less risk adverse and less prudent because the bitter taste of hardship has never been experienced. That is something that my parents generation never forgot, and with that prudence they avoided having to face disaster. Thank You.

Thread closed, Ted.
PM with what you really mean: "Fint" without the torturous prose or poor analogies. I'll re-open if this is not directed at a member here, which, with you towering intellect, you know is prohibited. Best and thanks.
