The Batman

I'm going to see this in the theater. I don't want to wait for it to stream, and I think the big screen will be good, with a nice leather recliner. I've heard it's dark and good- Rotten Tomatoes likes it, but that's not critical. Great cast, especially since I became a Zoë Kravitz fan (from Kimi). The Batman franchise has produced some gems. I thought the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton version was great, then The Dark Knight with Heath Ledger and Christian Bale came along and raised the bar. This should break new ground.

I saw it last nights with my kids... I loved it but I can see why the younger generation may not.
- Beautifully shot (on digital). A Batman movies for grownups!!!

Also The Batmobile & motorcycle were something else again!

Zoe Kravitz is enough reason for me to watch. The rest of it though, meh.

I saw it Thursday, had low expectations going in. Thought it was good but just good. Especially when you compare it to Joker which it tried to be, a little. Same gritty cinematography.

As more of an origin story than a mature character movie, it could have been much better.

Yes, Zoe Kravitz is reason enough to see it. I am sure we will see more of her.

Yes, it should be seen on the big screen. At home even with a big TV it would be half as good IMHO.

How many times can a story be re-spun? I'll see this one but I'm almost done with these do over films.

To their credit, Batman and Spiderman movie writers/directors keep each franchise fresh over so many iterations. While this Batman wasn't great, it was definitely unique and worth seeing.

Interesting scene- probably not enough time to put into the movie. Interesting- like the consultation between Clarice and Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs or Will Graham and Lecter in Manhunter (a terrific film as well).

Barry Keoghan certainly is a fine actor with lots yet to come, I'm sure.

I think this is worth seeing. Gotta check it out. From the clips on YouTube, it looks way better than the Batman/ Superman movie, which was a turd. But not as good as the masterpiece Chris Nolan batman movies, which says something about how bad the Zak Snyder movies are.

So another 100 pound sexy woman whipping 275 pound professional thugs. I will be so happy when that silly fantasy ends.

I hope the move looks better than that preview. It was pretty low resolution. It looked like a pirated video shot from the audience at a theater.

I will wait for it to be on HBO max.

OK, I watched it today. I would give it a 2 star out of 5, and only because I like batman the charterer. It is always night, and almost always raining.

Of all the many Batman films I liked it the least. It goes darker and more dystopian and just gloomy than any of the other batman franchises. It is obvious they are setting the plot for a sequel. The plot is gloomy and goes downhill from there. No new neat gizmos, the batmobile is meh. The sound quality is crappy. I had to crank up the volume to levels I never used before, and use closed captioning just to understand the conversations. Of course then the inevitable fights and explosions are too loud. I hope they fire the sound editor, he or she is terrible.

I only watched it because it was "free" on HBO+ that we subscribe to. I would have been mad if I went to the movies and paid to see it and the cost of concessions.

Is it darker and grittier?

It started streaming for free on HBO Max yesterday. I watched it for a while and it was a lot easier to see and hear than when I was in the theater. I'll probably finish it tonight. I like the darkness of it.

The sound editor needs a kick in the nuts. Lost of places the actors voices are just whispers and mumbles. I had to turn on closed captions. I had the sound turned up to levels I have never neared before. And of course they love to go from a whispering conversation to explosions and music blasting as a surprise. That sound editor needs two kicks in the nuts.

It's never going to end. Sex sells, so put a hot chick in a movie. These are mostly based on comic books, and hot comic book characters have been kicking but for decades.
