Where do you get your prices? I do not follow the market at all but I need to update insurance on a few things.
Thanks.

It’s starting to feel a lot like 1975. I remember guns, ammo, gas and commodities literally doubling in price year to year. Since then I’ve always considered guns and ammo prices as the bellwether of inflation. I don’t see them coming down in price any time soon.

Poverty for the vast majority of Americans.. if you have NO hard assets you are going to be left behind..Then when those abstract assets like stocks, bonds go by by..the rest will follow..RE is no panacea..cause you have to have people with where with all to be able to buy it...and if commercial/rentals people have to be able to pay the rent. That is the rub. Eventually everything just deflates..where Gold, Silver, Guns and Ammo will be the new cash is king.

Thanks to Tabs's confidence in the USD, I went all in on the ruble. Now I can't even afford a plastic spoon, let alone a gun.

What do you think? You are trying to be clever.
![]() When I am bidding I calculate the Buyers Premium as I bid. In the prebid I will even strategically place a bid to optimize my chances. Then before hand I calculate shipping cost, receiving and taxes.. for a rough order of cost. For the prices realized here I calculated apx 20% BP prem into each item (the rate on this auction was apx 18% but for my own ease I round to 20%). I can not know whether the Buyer used CC + 3%, shipping, receiving and taxes paid if any (Dealer don't pay receiving nor taxes).. There is a differential of apx 3% between a Floor Bidder and and On Line Bidder..so being online it costs more..and I am well aware of the disadvantage..by being a phone Bidder in many auctions you get the Floor Bidder BP. So I set it up to be a phone bidder. Also On Line ONLY auctions the prices are usually a bit less because the Buyer can not put his eyeballs on an item. He has go on pix and description. That is why I will call the auctioneer on most items if I am serious..to get that eyeball appraisal. I scored a Mint 1903 1921 type NM that way..for the price of a std rifle. Also photos give a lot of detail if you know what you are looking for. I also know how various auctioneers set up the order of the items that is being auctioned... I know by the pix presented and or descriptions if the auctioneer has a clue as to what he is selling. And they do make big mistakes.

I just looked at the going rate for my 1980's era Hungarian FEG P9R on Gunbroker.com, and it seems my spoon has doubled or more in value since I bought it. Now its no FEMARU, but who would have thought???

It's like that around here too. All my sensible investments aren't doing too well - but lets not go there.
But my frivolous spending on spoons has gone very well. I'm sure pleased I wasn't like those other boys at school who got a proper job and saved money in the bank. They're almost broke I guess. |

Bought a box of 300 at Bass Pro 2 weeks ago for $30. They usually have a good selection of everything else (excluding 6.5 creedmore) but in 22lr not as good. I have better luck online but you have to buy in bulk to average out the shipping. Bass also gives a military discount on weapons and ammo!!
