Everyone bored loves a puzzle to figure out.

So after watching this 20x in slo-mo, analyzing every nuance and genuflection of the creator's intention, what have you gained in life?
Something useful?

^^^^^^ I recommend you dont watch it. And dont watch Letterkenny, that is also being discussed. I think both are awesome, but I can see how some would not. To each his own.

Oh I've watched it. And seen/experienced plenty of other things over the years. Trust me. I'd get banned for describing it here. This isn't the place. Some here have experienced much much worse. I also like to bite at the bit of morality and will probably continue to do so. My brain has a thick layer of scar tissue which keeps it numb. But at some point there is a time for self-examination and decide if something external makes oneself better or worse afterwards. Or more succinctly, if it is good for society as a whole. At some point there should be a line. Everyone has a different line. That is all. Enjoy.

I watched it twice in 5 days.

it's the sort of movie that will attract a cult following asking "what did googly eyes on rocks" reeling for years.

once again, BIZZARE! I loved it and would love to buy the DVD/Blu Ray if they included some blooper and un-cut scenes.
It may already be out

This references an official blooper reel so the DVD probably has one. Others on YT

It looks like Amazon's got the DVD for $7.50 (BD $15). Or you can buy the download for $20, but I don't see a streaming rental option (which is a rip-off, IMO, since most streaming rentals only allow a single viewing).

It's not public library material which children should have access to.
Just like Charlotte Rampling in Benetta (basically lesbo christian nun porn with full nudity in many scenes, forced rape, some weird suggestion of god's morality, and none of it in a good way)
It should be banned.

At some point a viewer must be able to push the on/off button with material which is not beneficial to their brain.

Simple response is: Don't watch it.
you can just say you didn't get it.

its a fantastic movie. dealing both with internal trauma, and generational trauma, in a very kind and forgiving way. it confronts nihilism and perfectionism so well. my personal favorite scene is between the mom and dad in the universe where she became a movie star. its so quiet and gentle, and powerful, and kind.

i can see why this message would be seen as dangerous to some.

What ever happened to a good old fashioned Western where the Cowboys kill all the Indians, yeah?

What’s better for society? The freedom to create or the filtering of every creation through some imaginary morality filter?

Besides,,who would create that filter, what morality ‘compass’ would be used and who would make the decisions to in your words,,, Ban it?

“Personal Responsibility”. It’s not just a convenient buzz word.

On a complete tangent the title reminds me of a Latin saying..."omni, omnibus, ubique" Everything for everyone everywhere.

So, this title might be "omni, ubique, simul" or some such. FWIW this is just one of those things that amuses me.

Carry on.

I vote we pick a militant, non-binary, fluid gendered 19 year old that uses the pronouns ze, zem, zey.

I think they would definitely do The best job.

And all this time I was here completely unaware your side has always been the protector of the family unit. Nekromantik and On Golden Pond were similar stories of love compassion and finding togetherness. Debby Does Dallas is classic visual literature and should be required watching for elementary school arts appreciation. How mistaken I have been all this time. Fly in the soup to eating fly burgers. Yum.

Can we just have one thread that you don’t show up to insult or argue with someone?

No thanks. Movies with ridiculous "fight scenes" like this...

...where one guy is fighting multiple others and they encircle him, then he fights them one at a time and you can see the others jumping around trying to look menacing as they wait their turn to get kicked or punched... nah, I'm out.

I'm sure there are enough other scenes that somewhat redeem the movie, but... nah, I'm out.

I thought it was an entertaining movie. I do admit to having a couple of brief naps through the showing...

I finally saw this movie. The first five hours were okay, the next three hours were sleep-inducing, and at "Part 3" I felt true despair.

Seriously - I liked the actors' performances a lot, there were interesting aspects, but - and this is just personal preference, no panty-bunching - I just a) don't like Matrix-style stretching one instant of action into minutes of flash-backs, introspection, and dream-states, and b) don't like plots that equate some pedestrian human relationship issues (mother-daughter, etc) with the fate of the universe.

My family thinks I'm a total heathen.

You are far too well-adjusted for this movie.

Loved it.

At first you think, i should be baked for this one.

Then it’s over and you think, Thank God i was not baked for that.

And the story was as simple as it could get.

It’s about a fractured relationship between a mom and her daughter.

That’s it, nothing more to read into it.
