Sometimes I hate working on cars.
You never know what you are going to find. 2005 997 sitting for two years. So much damage done. Chassis and engine harness chewed on. Fuel lines on top of fuel tank sawed through.....etc.

could have been worse
I assume this sort of thing is from stop leak or vandalism.

It is a shame to let a 997 sit for 2 years. There is a price to pay for that.

I have been through this . I started up a 912 that had been sitting for a long time, and a live mouse shot out of the muffler, and ran away . Bet that woke him up quick

Sorry to hear about your car, nasty little critters. This past fall I was in the process of changing the air filter on the 993. As I am pulling off the airbox cover I see all this straw and fluffy crap way back the engine compartment. Mice. So I got lucky to find it when I did, and the car had only been sitting a few months. I put out some Tomcat baits, but not even a nibble. I am driving it regularly now though, so maybe that will help. I think they come into the garage in the colder months.

Why was it sitting for two years?
I like working on cars when I’m doing upgrades, go fast parts, etc. I don’t like working on cars when they are broken, etc. |

I had a 964 on my hoist a couple of years ago that had also been sitting. It got towed in. I was pulling the splash shield off the bottom and out hops a bunny rabbit and runs out of the shop.

I was thrilled to work on cars as a young man. Now....not so much.

I ONLY work on my cars. I work on my old 1980s cars as part of the hobby, and mostly it is maintenance. For the El Camino I do have to fix things that GM never designed to last for 34 years and 375,000 miles.
Long ago in a galaxy far away.... When I was single I worked on a girlfriends car. I replace her brake pads. Suddenly I was responsible for her turn signals not working, and the air conditioner not working. She dumped me when I told her I was not responsible for her POS car's issues. All I touched were the brake pads. She was fun, but not that much fun.

I still like it at 65. I can't do as much as when 45 but I don't hate it.
Somewhere along the line in the 50 years of working on them I got over being frustrated if something did not go right.
