Beautiful Spring Weather

A little late here in West Michigan, but it's settled into mid 70's with just enough rain.
My favorite time of year.
Did the lawn today...it's fun at this time of the year.

It's normally a 'two beer lawn'...but I had a Founders Backwoods Bastard at the midway point.
That carried me through to the finish.

If one keeps them straight...I wonder what two of them would do?

Michigander refugee here in the high NM desert mountains. Haven't had precip since January. 80s F temps with single digit humidities, but at least the winds are usually >20mph. And allegedly we're still in the "wet, cool, high altitude" region.

I'd kill for a few soggy Michigan days. Sure, living up on the mitten I remember that they're a drag but at some point here the dry air and the cancer-beam-from-the-sky gets old. The local climate has changed dramatically since I moved here late in the last century. Was once cool and moist in the summer and snowy and cold in the winter. Now, and for the last 15y, it's been none of that.

No precip in the forecast, but RH might be >30% at some point soon and a few clouds are suggested, but I won't get my hopes up. Real rain is at least another month out, if we're lucky with the monsoon. It'll be hot though, the next few days may be >10F of record highs...

Mowing has been an 'every other day' thing lately.
The forecast for next week is upper 80's, sunny and no rain...

...as the rain hammers my roof!

It was LOVELY in February / March. Been raining mostly steady ever since. Weird Spring for us in Western Oregon. Big drought South. Wetter than heck here.

We had a work party at the family farm a couple weeks ago. I had to put the farm truck in 4wd just to get up the goopy driveway. That was a first. I also got a full size tractor stuck. Mud was deep!

Maybe that means we will have a nice, green Summer.

Normally, that's our spring and summer here, but not this year. We've only mowed 2-3 times in the past 2-3 months because...

^^^ We haven't had anything close to those temps yet this year.
Our rains have been timely...but not as much as normal.

If I ever replace my JD 335...it's going to be one with LKAS.

I was told we got 4” of rain on Tuesday. My lawn probably gobbled that up! We were really dry for about 10 days or so.

Spring? It's pretty much full on Summer here in Bama!!! I've mowed a couple of times already, in fact, I cut the grass the day before yesterday but it had been three weeks since the last cut. I installed new spindles on my LT2000 and WOW, what a difference, it is much more quiet now and my gator mulching blades sound like fans humming along making mowing very enjoyable!!!

That lawn looks big enough for a backyard circuit course. Totally jelly here. The small bit of grass I mow (it all looks like green stuff to myself) grew thick but not very high this year actually. I think or hope the plants are growing deep roots instead. The city put off mowing all the parks to make more clover flowers for the disappearing honey bees as the rumor goes. I was gonna send them a ticket just like they did to homeowners with front yard gardens .

Time to get those heavy chores done before the freezer turns into the frying pan.

I use the Gator blades on my JD also. They make a distinctive sound...and work great!

Here in the good ole south west, it's fluctuating between spriing & summer. Today it's in the low to mid 90's. Startiing next week, it's going to be in the mid 70's. We're supposed to have a dangerous fire season - although fire season now lasts all year. Those shots in Michigan look so green compared to here, although I enjoy sitting on my front swing with coffee in the mornings and feeling the cooling air and listening to the animals start to get out in the early evenings.
