Back in the 80s when I lived in Atlanta, a girl I was dating and I went to a Braves game. While waiting in the parking lot, a guy offered me a nice gold chain for $25. The girl I looked at it and we’re going to pass but he said it’s 18 karat gold or something. There was one link stamped with an 18K. Wanting to impress the girl, I bought it and after wearing it about a week, the gold started wearing off.😂

Other than a few occasions of buying someone a meal, I've never given $$ to anyone begging or asking.... never.
But the occasional "down & out" person who isn't seeking a handout.... it's rare, but sometimes I do .... just because. |
