This is the kind of nonsense I’m talking about:

This new breed of watch collector obsesses over stupid crap like this.

If you’re referring to the economy I’d disagree. This country’s seen way worse times in our past where crime didn’t spike.
If you’re referring to fatherless homes, entitlement, corrupt DA’s not locking up perps, and new laws decriminalizing thuggery, then yeah, 100%

Weird thing. I bought a stainless steel GMT II about 7 years ago for a little over $8k - a present to myself when I quit drinking. Anyways it has a back bezel (not the Pepsi looking one) and I've had a couple of jewelers ask me if I wanted to sell it. I guess it was discontinued and is in high demand, and is worth twice what I paid for it. And before, I thought my Seiko kinetic was the bomb - I ust bought the GMT because my daughter was a US Navy NAV and sailing around the world, and my other two kids were in different time zones. That was all the thought I gave to it. Go figure.

Stupid pricing and they thought it would last? They "self-mugged"...

If I were you, I’d sell it and make some money. Any iPhone can tell you the time in any city in the world, at a glance. I use that feature a lot, it’s way more convenient than looking at a watch.

I have a couple Omegas. Traveling overseas at the moment, and they are safely at home in our safe deposit box. My Orient Bambino Open Heart looks snazzy on my wrist, and if it gets stolen….meh.

I like it, and it's about the last damned analog thing I own.
(Well, I guess my '72 911 is kinda analog...)
