I can’t believe I haven’t got it, I’ve been to a bunch of social dances including in the middle of the whole thing. Got tested after several weeks of dancing and it was negative. I haven’t felt sick or had a temp above normal during the whole 2 years except once and the home test was negative. I don’t regularly test though.

I do a good job of hand washing and other common sense precautions, but not living in fear either. My personality keeps people at a good distance already!

Fully vaxed and boosted.

Wife caught it a few weeks ago. We're both vaxxed.

I'm convinced I can't catch it. I lived in China for 3 years about 12 years ago. I got incredibly sick once when I lived there. I haven't been sick since.

How many that have had it multiple times were vaxxed and thought they were safe?

That is what the powers that be said, it would protect them and prevent spread of the virus. If everyone gets vaxxed, the lockdowns will end, masks work, etc. Seems reasonable to expect that if they are vaxxed, they must be safe.

Yes, I know these are things that all turned out to be lies, but at the time, the public's trust had not been violated yet. Actually it was violated already, but the cat was not yet out of the bag, and the public did not know they had been lied to about pretty much everything.

Have not tested positive and have not had it as far as I know.

Plenty of information out there about how vaccines work, FDA EUA and "approval" (licensure), and what folks can expect from a statistical safety and efficacy standpoint.

And of course guidance by local, state and federal public health and FDA is readily available.

Resources likely also include on-line courses in various life science and statistical areas. Some are likely free and nevertheless pretty good.

I get it, Tobra. You've proclaimed it ad nauseum. You don't think Covid is a big deal. The vaccine is a sham. Masks are a sham. It's no worse than the flu.

With the exception of a a summer vacation last year and one this year, I've had to work every day of this whole pandemic. Obviously, I've had close contact with people every one of those working days, because that's what my job mandates. And through luck, maybe Moderna's vaccine, and fastidious masking and gloving, I've been able to dodge getting sick thus far. I do this partially because I don't have the luxury of missing an unscheduled week or two of work if I get sick.

I admit part of that is blind luck. Three weeks ago, after a day of surgery, my sniffling scrub tech decided to take a Covid test in the break room. She tested positive within 20 seconds. Somehow, I was lucky not to catch it, despite sitting head-to-head with her for about 8 hours that day. But then again, I was gloved/masked/gowned the entire time. Fortuitously I had taken precautions. It just befuddles me that there are others who have caught this multiple times, yet still seem to take a pretty cavalier attitude about the whole thing.

For those who haven't taken any precautions and haven't gotten sick, that's fantastic. Whatever you're doing has been working for you.

But for those who have gotten sick 3 or 4 times, I submit that whatever you've been doing isn't working for you.

Had a good run without rona but got it a few months ago at my bros wedding.

Vaxed/boosted and my symptoms were relatively minor. My wifes friend somehow has had it 4 times, though very minor each round.

I am in a similar situation as you Noah, worked every day since this started, been around a lot of very ill people at the hospital. Been in a number of groups where practically everyone else there got sick, except me. It probably has something to do with being the luckiest person around, maybe it is just the strong personal constitution, but I lean toward it being the guy living the charmed life thing.

I have not taken any additional precautions. I wash my hands, using appropriate technique, frequently, just like always. Wear a mask where mandated. Eat a healthy diet, refrain from being fat, a drunk or a smoker, just like always. Wait, I take that back. When I knew less about this, I would never go from the hospital to my parent's house. I would always go there first or go home, shower, change clothes and then go over.

It makes me more than somewhat displeased, bordering on angry, that they are pushing the jab on children. There is no rational reason to be doing that at this point.

There’s no rational reason for them to be pushing this vaccine on anybody, let alone children.

They should be issuing the entire country an apology and getting rid of every mandate and reinstating anybody that was fired or lost some privileges as a result of their vaccination status.

Baz, My wife and I both got it in January 2020. Yeah brand new ***** back then. I thought it was just a really bad cold and kept right on working. My wife, not so lucky. It went right for her heart! She woke me up in the middle of the night clutching her chest complaining about irregular heart beat, shortness of breath, all that!
We both lived. She ended up having to have an heart ablation to correct the damaged heart. (from COVID)
Both of us have since been vaccinated and boosted. We got it again almost two years to the day of the first time. The second time was NO BIG DEAL! The Vaccines work!
It DOES NOT keep you from getting it. It DOES help your body fight it the next time.
Our second time around with COVID for me was two days of feeling bad, ten days of staying away from everyone. (to protect them) Leslie's experience, it went right for her heart the second time too, but only lasted two or three days with no long term effects.
Sorry for the long winded answer/non-answer to your original question.
People need to know the truth!

So sorry to hear that Dan.

I have been thinking about you and Dan for weeks as I have been attempting to send you customers, and I hope to see RMG and/or his wife LP at Carlsen concours last Sunday.

Mike E. was there and told me you guys were doing okay.

Kind of made my day to have a chat with Mike.

So sorry again.

You may not know this, but for a while it was thought that the first US death was a woman that lived in SC county and worked at Lam in Fremont. Colleague of one of my neighbors and I am pretty sure she attended my gym near Tesla.

Small world indeed.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/22/us/santa-clara-county-coronavirus-death.html

Best in health to you and your wife.
