A good vanilla is good, but it's very ...vanilla. I'd prefer chocolate or chocolate chip or would add chocolate sauce to vanilla.

Actually creme de cassis or chambord are both very good on vanilla ice cream.

And believe it or not, damn, DAMN tasty is a Guinness float. I've tried a few different stouts, and "Guinness Extra Stout" has always been the best.

Root beer float with a bit of Fireball is quite tasty, too.

I would try the Guiness X-Stout float....sounds good.
I'm just not a chocolate fan.

If the ice cream is REALLY cold, then the head from the Guinness can freeze around the ice cream like that old "magic shell" stuff.

Ok...I tried a 4-pack of these.
What's the deal with the white (marble size) ball in each can?

Magic ball of Nitrogen.

Hey, did anyone ask the OP for this thread and his opinion?

Open can
Pressure drops
Magic Ball O Nitrogen lets loose
Beer further infused with nitrogen

That's some damn good engineering for some damn good beer.

As already explained, that's how the bubbles get in. When the can is opened, the ball "pops" and lets out gas.

I don't like the draught. It doesn't have as much flavor as the extra stout, to me.

^^^ The store I bought these at, was out of stock of Extra Stout.
I'll try again this weekend.

My first thought was that the pull tab had broken off and was rattling in the can.
