There are speed limits for airplanes over the US land areas. So you have to fly out to the ocean to go supersonic. The fuel bill would be breathtaking.

Funny ad. There are some former (Soviet) military jets in private hands. I think I heard the US does not allow jet fighters to be sold for use my non military.

Paul Allen had some fully functional military planes, jets, tanks.

I expect that others do too. Even Wayne D has that tank-like thing.
