Funny, that's what I use to see through Tabster's windows.

Jeez! See what you guys have started? I was still feeling pious and clean from the Mormon thread last week.

I pretended to be a Mormon making "a house call." How else?

I liked it. Gave her some warmth. She's one cold heifer.

Damn these time zones. I go to sleep (on an ordinary bed, not a futon) and when I awake, I see what I've missed on this thread. BSJ, I had my terminology wrong. I think a solid-timber based futon is what I'm chasing.

Chiming in late. We have a nice oak futon frame with the thickest futon mattress they offered, with many layers of cotton and foam. By no means a cheap alternative - it probably cost us more than a regular bed. Firmer than the firmest box spring mattress, I find it very comfortable. If you want softer, consider laying a piece of foam or mattress pad on top of the futon and under the futon cover. Also consider putting a sheet of painters' plastic tarp or similar thin plastic sheeting under the cover, to protect the futon from spills.

You mean peeing in bed or other things which are more than I need to know about

Back pain.... I have 2 thinning discs...When I was thinner my back used to cause me more pain, now it's relativily infrequent.

Whats odd is that I can go out and lift heavy stuff all day and my back would be stiff and have soreness....but reach over and pull out a golf tee, bend over ever so slightly when looking in the refrigerator and my back has gone out of place to point that I can barely walk because of the pain.

Well, my kids may have peed on the futon but as far as I know they've merely spilled things. You use it as a couch too, sometimes, so there's more opportunity for wine etc to spill.
