Too late for you, but in my woodworking shop, I had a trench layed out in the foundation that ran from a wall over to the middle of the room. The trench was about 12" wide x 8" deep. I've got my dust collection and power running to the table saw laying in it and coming up under the saw.

So much fun helping someone spend their money!

I wish I had the space for a shop. I will settle for my 3 car oversized garage.
The one feature of this house that put me over the top, was the bathroom in the garage out in the garage. It is just wonderful to be able to wash my hands, or even my face if I am mowing. No tracking up the house. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1662580387.JPG No room for a full lift, but I love my scissor lift. The work area on the far side of the car is just wonderful. Good luck with your garage. I am jealous. I am super happy with our house and my garage. My wife and I agreed this is our forever home. I will leave in a wheel chair to the old folks home, or feet first on a gurney. |

How tall are your ceilings!? Looks awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Wifey wants to move because our place has become really busy since the COVID invasion to our lake.
I told her I need 100 g's for a garage if there isn't one. She agreed ..... for now. lol |

Just 10ft. The lift is max 48 inches. The 911 can go to the stops of the lift. My El Camino has to stop when the the roof would hit the light for the garage door opener. The Macan gets high enough to easily change the oil. I LOVE my scissors lift. |
14 foot low side 16 on the high side.
house is bigger, I like the single lift! Music will be loud! will post pics after the weekend, getting the last wall up. |
The slab is 12 inches thick excavator screwed up was going to be 8

I’m trying not to be jealous. Real difficult. Very nice.

need help on choosing lifts... help
|
I purchased a used Ammco 7k two post lift for my man cave garage . It is made by Challenger it says so on the decals . If I were to do it over again I would go for a 9k or a 10k . Why ? I have a extended cab diesel dually that weighs around 7400 lbs and I get nervous putting her on my lift .
I basically only lift the truck about 10-12 inches high and support with multiple jack stands . All other vehicles in house I have no concerns going full lift height . In a perfect world I would have a 2 post and a 4 post 😋 . Just depends on your needs and fleet diversity 😁 . Buying local is a plus , if you get in a jamb on install or have a need for service it's nice to have someone local to assist . |
WE need to see pics of the space you're trying to fill up now.

If I ever do one mine will have some killer landscaping to enhance it. Exotic palms and Bromeliads as a start. Maybe some orchids & Crotons....Hawaiian Ti Plants.
I'm in the tropics though but I'm sure Utah has some suitable material that would work! Congrats and good luck! |
Surface mount the breaker panel. I'm kicking myself for having it mounted between the studs on my shop. Adding circuits that I never dreamed I would need is a pain.

Around here there always seem to be a few commercial quality ones being sold second hand for cheap. Garages going bust :( Or a scissor lift like a Bendpak. A good thing about the scissor lift is you can move it around as you better plan out your space usage. |
I wouldn't buy a used lift from a shop. It has been used more times in 1 week than you would in a lifetime. Plus it will be really dirty.
