I've tried streaming, but in the car, even with a 5G connection, and using Amazon's Music Unlimited ("HD-Quality"), playing the same song from a CD is without peer. I've tried ripping CDs to the highest quality, zero-compression formats to play via a USB drive, but still can't get close to the sonic quality of a CD.
One day, phones/vehicle audio and OTA streaming services will reach the fidelity of a CD, but we're not there yet. Not a big deal; if I don't have a decent CD handy, I just power (roll) down the windows and listen to the V6 in my '15 Accord Coupe sing up to 6,500 rpm as I snick through the six gears. ![]()

The new cars don't have a CD player. But I like the sound of any car over any music.
