One of my BMX friends is a former career soldier over there, and knows the drill, some of what he shared with the pictures.

The government plans for organising something like this are reviewed annually but it is still a massive undertaking.

For a country that freed itself from the tyranny of English rule, and promotes democracy at every turn, I find the amount of media coverage of this event on Us channels amazing.. Must be a romantic Disney thing. In the UK I get it, but here ? Well wishes and all, hope it's over soon.

It will be interesting to see how the King's funeral is covered by the US media in 10-15 years or so.
