Everything was supposed to be outside, but they ended up using the inside of one barn for storage and back lights. They did it after midnight on the first day of filming when none of us were around to give permission. Billing them for that extra. We did walk around identified issues and they cleaned up the place very well. The fake blood and stuff are supposed wash away once it rains.

Worst part was finding big light on tripod inches away from my porsche in the car port with no one watching it. They were supposed to stay several hundred feet away from Carport.

They borrowed tools and buckets from the barns and left around the filming area, they drove high lift tower and large box truck up narrow road and almost slid off side even after we told them not to drive big stuff up it.

We had several neighbors call during daylight because they saw one location they filmed and thought we had been vandalized.

Film company was supposed to get permits for this but they said they called city and were told they didn't need one. We're in unincorporated County and definitely need permits. We ended up having to talk to neighbors to let them know what was happening. Film company "forgot " to as they promised us.

Thanks for all the advice here,it will help IF we ever do this again. Partnership meeting next week to discuss all this.

The majority of the parnters say yes. But from what the folks here on the forum said, I believe we didn't charge enough. We took the film company's first offer and didn't negotiate on any of the extras such as using barns, equipment and electrical

Filming days are usually 5 times the cost of prep and strike days. A large facility for filming interiors can run $700-1000 per day for prep/strike, $3-5k a day for filming. And all electrical should come from their generators, no "in house" use of electrical.

Only charged them for 2 filming days. 3 days of prep and clearing their equipment was free. But we're asking for money after the fact on prep days.. Electrical was for barn interior lights and a number of battery chargers.

From your numbers we way under charged.

That's the cost for say, a 100-200k sq ft industrial building. Exterior locations are cheaper. Just make sure they leave everything in satisfactory condition before you sign off on the contract.

They had pretty much full access to 20 acres. So far everything has been returned to an acceptable condition. I need to check the area where trailers, and catering tent was set up. They just left that this morning
