One of the Pelicans haven't seen him on in over 15 years, with a lime green 914, he built micromachine shops for dentists that would make crowns in an hour.

"Joe Bob" - Do you remember who I'm talking about? I think he lived in Dana Point.

If your tooth is in good shape, they can drill and install a post to then mount a new crown on. I'm going through the same thing

Yes...I broke a crown on a popcorn kernel, the dentist did some cleaning under it and put a new one in. It's been there for about 10 years now.
Can't remember the exact cost, but I think it was $1100 before insurance.

Yep. Looks like a significant time between posts to heal an and crown installation.

About 40 years ago I had a tooth broken off at the gumline in a fight.
I had a post and new crown installed and it's still good.
Highly recommended over an implant if possible.
Some dentists will not offer this as an alternative as the cost is a third of an implant also and can be done in a week.
Not as much profit in it.

I paid 7 grand for tooth #30, a molar. It had a root canal and then broke at the gum line. Oral surgery to get the old roots out, and bone graft. Then the implant, and then a crown. Over a year to get it all done.

I am looking into the same thing. I eat a lot of nuts and ended up cracking some molars. Well, one of the molars split in half vertically so I went to my dentist. Needed a root canal on the molar on the other side! Got a temp crown that I broke after a week. Have another temp in, get the permanent one in next week. Had the crown on back molar that was irritating as hell because I thought it was loose. Doc said the tooth was loose and that came out. Now, the molar I originally went in for, lost its filling over the weekend. Doc says that one has to come out, too!

I was told to get implants, but that is a long drawn out process. Now, I am looking at mini-implants. Those can be done rather quickly.

I was quoted $20 grand for bone grafts and implants. I need four. I’m old and going with a partial denture. $1800.

^^^ I had gum grafting done about 10 years ago with cadaver tissue.
It was done in the dental office and was painless.

I had to wait in the chair for almost an hour before he would start.....my blood pressure was too high.

It costs $800-$1000 here for a single porcelain crown if there is enough tooth left to attach to. If there is not much left, you can either get cantilever bridge (a crown with two teeth attached), a post inserted into the root or both.

A cantilever bridge is a crown that is for two teeth and connects the next tooth as well for added strength/structure (but you can't see it) to save from getting a root canal. That type crown costs about $1200-$1400 here. I have a couple of these. One needed a root canal and the other did not. They are much stronger if you have a problem breaking teeth...especially those near the front that are long and thin and act like levers. If you need a root canal due to pain, abscess or decay, the price goes up about $800-$1000 here...or need to install a post or screw/implant.

With the root canal, you can get a post installed, and the dentist builds up around that for something to attach the crown to. Most invasive and expensive is if you have a serious tooth issue and cannot do the others. They do a root canal and drill a hole into your jawbone through your gum and install an implant (metal post/screw) into your gum to replace the root.

Swallowed my gold crown. I thought about looking for it but passed (no pun intended). Got a new crown and for the price, I was surprised it was not gold.

I have a crown up front, but before it was installed, he had to take out the old tooth and install cadaver bone. After that, he installed a post and crown. It was pretty cool when he used a miniature torque wrench to install the post into the jawbone.

6K for my implant but everything is high here. 3.7K seems cheap enough to me!
Same tooth, the one behind the eye

Fair price and it's going to take you about a year start to finish.
