I don't remember ever getting upset with a llh.
Just change lanes and pass them. |
So no one is fessing up to being a left lane hog?

Speeds are much much higher these days, compared to the 55 mph era.
Depending on where I’m at in the country, traffic can easily be flowing at 80 mph, which would have been unthinkable 25 years ago. I’ve noticed there’s far fewer egregious Left Lane Bandits, I think they tended to be older people, and even they know they can’t be doing 60 in the left lane when everyone else is going 80. You’d have people on your tail and swerving around you (and worse) literally nonstop. |
Our interstates are mostly 75 mph limit. When traffic is moving smoothly, everyone is going 80-85
No fear of getting pulled over unless going over 90 mph |
I hate the left lane guy that won’t pass me and hangs out right in my blind spot until I come up on a slower car and need to get over to the left. Have to slow down, get over behind him, pass and get back in right lane. He HAS to see what’s going on and yet…

I usually won't stay in that situation long. And if I see a car coming up in my lane that would require me to move over to get around, I'll speed up or slow down so that guy isn't in my way any more. If I can't shake the guy after 3-4 attempts, then I'll park myself in the left lane in front of him since he's clearly not wanting to get past me and keep going. I'm not going to be your shoulder to shoulder pace car. I'll run behind someone or in front of someone, but I don't want to be beside someone if there's plenty of space so I don't have to be. Obviously in traffic, I don't care. |
Drive to the right.
Pass on the left. Do both as traffic allows. The middle of a River runs quickest, be fluid, not anal. |

By using side-view mirrors as redundant rearview mirrors. Why would side-view mirrors not be adjusted so that vehicles on each side of the car become clearly visible before they disappear from the rearview mirror? _ |

My mirrors show an amber light when a car is next to mine.

^^^ I guess all my cars have, and have had, magic mirrors, because I can see cars to my port and starboard until they're abeam of me.

I live about 30 miles from the Pa / jersey border. I frequently see Pa drivers being busted for failure to keep right. It's especially entertaining when an unmarked statey pulls up on one, flashes the highs and when they don't move the Christmas lights come on.

Left land campers need to be trained. A big ticket, 300 bucks, no traffic school. That will do the trick if cops and courts are willing to work together on this. Everyone is a left land hogger here. I wore out my high beams flicking them. Still, many day dreamers are don't ever noticed my flicking lights.

We're not sociopaths so of course we stayed in the right lane - but wow! It's amusing to go 65mph (in the slow lane) when traffic's doing >90mph as it usually does from Denver to CO springs. Many were doing closer to 100mph. "Amusing" as in terrifying. But it was cool to get >40 mpg in our Mazda 3 for the trip. |

Also, if they're an ass about it and tailgate me or drive aggressively. That's not very nice, and can be unsafe. Then I might have to slow down to a speed that is safe given their stopping distance. My dad and brother get into interactions with the cars behind them where they try to enforce the speed limit, and actively prevent those behind them overtaking. This is a bit if a sanctimonious passive aggressive trait because they enjoy exercising control over others, although they would never admit it. I told my young daughter once that my dad loved nothing more than to have a queue of traffic behind him. One day he drove us somewhere, she looked behind and said, "Grandad, you'll be really pleased to know there's a massive queue of traffic behind you". It was so funny.
