Idiot PM we have that thinks this will lower gun related crime......... Well, he previously was a part dime drama teacher.... so I guess this makes sense to him....

We also now have a ban on the sale, purchase and transfer of hand guns. Becuase, the Idiot, thinks this will also help..... But hey, we eleceted a socialist minority governmnet propped up by a more socialist party to stay in power....

I think this really depends on your geography. In the rural area in Alberta where I live, I can think of only one house within 10 miles that doesn’t have a gun.

Just this morning my wife told me to go outside with my gun and shoot the magpies that have picked holes into the backs of 2 of our cows.

Wow - according to the last article, the Ruger #1 is on the "banned" list. A single shot hunting rifle. How is this justified?

If any of you need a good home for your soon to be illegal #1's, I've been taking in strays for years.

UncleBilly, You're absolutely right. When I was growing up, there were four rifles and an ancient 12 guage on the place. A lot of folks around here now (rural Nova Scotia) don't hunt, don't have stock and have little interest in having a gun they don't use hanging around.
When I was young, I remember going through a box of 22 in a weekend. We had our own range set up in an old river bed. Shovelled a lot of gravel for the berm. I haven't pulled a trigger in 45 years.
I have said before I suspect more deer die through impact with a motor vehicle than are taken by hunters.
We're not a rural population any more.

It has nothing to do with protecting Canadians, what the motive is I'm not sure. Our freedom's here are eroding rather fast. The gun grab will do nothing to protect anyone.
I retired after 30 years as a Mounted Policeman, I don't think taking guns from law abiding persons will protect them from criminals with guns.

Unfortunately the people working for the government really do not have any idea what they are doing, and many citizens do not have any idea of what it takes to get a licence to legally own in Canada, many think anybody can just go to a store and buy a rifle or gun, just not the way it is. So they just make a bunch of new laws that will likely accomplish nothing.

Unless you are talking about illegal firearm, that is different. I would like to know how many legally owned firearms were used in crimes last year, I doubt many if any. I was told by a gunsmith years ago that just possession of an old over capacity magazine ( now max 10 for handgun and 5 rifle) can get you jail time, without any gun for it or ammo.

Trudeau doesn’t announce his visits to Alberta until he leaves. His supposed photo op to the Calgary Stampede this summer was actually at a YMCA/library in a liberal friendly neighborhood. Last time he was at the Stampede the entire crowd boo’d him.

They are disarming legal gun owners because it won’t be criminals who overthrow our government, it will be regular people that are fed up. They won’t be able to do much without guns.
