Stolen debit number - weird.

I had a debit charge on our business account for $0.50 on 12/26. Wrote the place and they said someone has been testing stolen card numbers on their website.

Whats REALLY interesting is that I've NEVER used this card, ever.

However on December 24th I took it with me for the first time, walked through our local Costco with it, and went home.

...RFID scanner I assume?

If you think it's been "compromised" you need to contact your financial institution ASAP. But you knew that already.

How was it compromised? It may have been an RFID scanner but there's not real way to know that for sure.

Is it possible your details were hacked directly from your financial institution?

Card has already been canceled of course.

It had to be one of those two options because I've NEVER used it. ...in fact it never left the house until Dec 24th and only for 2 hours. IN those two hours it was in my wallet.

Hmmm...might be time for you to check out those RFID protection wallets?

I'm thinking I just tuck it under my tinfoil lined knit cap that protects me from the 5G Covid waves....

Costco hopefully has security measures, and unless someone in their tech department got the number, I can't imagine how it happened. Pretty spooky. The good news is it was stopped before it could do any damage.
