I like camping. Anyone else?

Ok, I mostly glamp but I would like to get back to basics somewhat. I won’t sleep on the ground anymore but I will car camp. I’ll have to solo camp though if I’m going to sleep in my car in dispersed campsites. Nowadays we comfortably RV in National or state campgrounds. I miss the old days. Mid life crisis?

Did so much of it from Boy Scouts through pop-up campers in my 30's.
Still tired of it...enjoy the luxury of home living more.

I used to love camping ! I had many great trips ! I do not camp anymore, but those lessons learned are put to use when we lose power during storms.

We have been living in this from May to Nov. this past year, while looking for a new home. We are now renting a house for the winter, and my wife says she misses our "tiny home" So we might be back in the spring and head out west still looking for a home to buy. Did a lot of boondocking to save staying in RV parks. Nice to wake up in the woods with no one around!

We live on 300 acres and our closest neighbor is 3/4 of a mile away. We camp once a year with our kids and I can’t deal with having neighbors making a racket nearby.

I like back country camping but we haven’t done it with the kids yet.

Still camp many times a year, as a Scoutmaster should. Will be spending 10 days in a tent this July at the Bechtel Summit Scout Reserve in WV. Will try to pitch my tent out in the snow at least once this winter. Would love to do a Philmont trek in NM, but that doesn't appear to be likely. I'll be 63 this June!

My extended family does an annual trip to Joshua Tree. The wife comes too, but she spends the night at the Inns of the Corps Mountain View at nearby Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Base.

Nope, not me. My idea of camping is a hotel with slow WiFi and no refrigerator in the room. My parents did not take me camping because they loved me.

My brother did get the camping gene. He bought a 1974 VW Westfallia camper back in 1978 for 500 bucks. He has been camping thousands of time in it, he is a deer hunter and figures over 100 deer have been on the roof to be hauler home. He now also has a Class B motorhome. He and his wife seems to like like he is homeless. His son moved to Colorado and lives in a cabin in the middle of nowhere and loves that lifestyle. I simply don't understand it.

I gave it up for a long time because I wasn't sleeping well. ...but a better bag and sleeping mat changed a lot of that for me.

One of my favorite things is motocamping. Ride through the back country until you're done - camp there - ride more.

I still volunteer with a Scout troop and still go camping quite a bit. I enjoy escaping from the rest of civilization and seeing nature without a lot of people around. I will admit that I am finding it less comfortable than it used to be.

My wife is going to Jamboree too! She is the Scoutmaster for our council's female Troop.

Cool! I'll be the Scoutmaster for our Council's contingent as well. I'll will try to meet her, but it's a big place with a huge crowd!

I like drinking and cooking outside and actually enjoy the process of towing large stuff but as a buddy who bought a camper a few years back says 'I spent $35,000 so we can live like we're poor every weekend'.

We rent a camper once in a while to camp with my sisters family who go all the time. It's nice family time but I hate the camper itself. Uncomfortable, ****ty build no matter the brand (haven't been in an Airstream though) and just overall reminds me how much I enjoy a nice hotel.

We could be brothers.. My idea of camping is a anything below a marriott courtyard. Don't even like camping on a sailboat. My genetic line evolved to a preference of not sleeping with bugs on the cold hard ground.
That said, for those who like it, good for you and I would not dream of criticizing it. If the internet teaches us anything , it's that we're not all alike at all !

Been having good luck with hotels carrying the 'IHG' name. Frequently seem to be Holiday Inns. Very comfortable beds, big ass tv, nice bathrooms.

Would have to say it's a hobby of mine to find the best possible hotel anywhere we go (at reasonable cost). Nothing craps up a trip for me like a lousy hotel.

I would prefer not to

Though I do make exceptions for the kiddos, as long as there is AC, Internets, and high pressure electrons to do my bidding
