Some guy shows up drunk and belligerent at a Guitar Center store in Albequerque. Then he grabs the shirt of an employee and this video starts as he's being escorted out of the store. He grabs a guitar off a rack as he's being run out and gives it the Animal House treatment at the exit. I fully support the GC employees here and hope they don't get sued. I was sitting at a bar years ago that was nearly cleared out. Closing time. The bartender was a short stocky guy, a bit muscle-bound, and the waitress was tall and busty. And attractive. They were husband and wife. The bartender's area floor was 'sunken.' I was talking to the bartender but he was not listening to me. He (the bartender) was listening to a drunk patron who was having a conversation with the bartender's wife. Suddenly and quickly he leaped over the bar (impressive). Next thing I knew he had the guy by the collar and the belt, with the patron's toes barely able to reach the floor. Running, he opened two sets of heavy wooden doors with this guy's head and flung him down some stairs and into the parking lot. I guess the guy must have said something wrong.

When I was a young man, men "enforced" the law (and polite society) quite a bit and I did more than most. Citizens were generally grateful as were the police if they were involved. I would be afraid to in the current environment. One could easily end up in jail.

I wonder what he did to receive treatment that could have left him permanently f’d up.

I used to go to a bar after work nearly every Friday and often for
Sunday brunch… then one night, I saw the staff throw another patron down the steps and then call the cops on him for drunk driving as he was sitting in his car (not driving but it was running as it was -30C outside).

I went out and told the cops what happened and that I’m a witness if the patron wanted to press assault charges. The guy hit the railing with his back very hard… it wasn’t good.

That was my last Friday night at that bar and have only gone back maybe 3 times in 20 years since.

Sad when you need a bouncer in a retail store to contain the mayhem. Maybe GC needs a policy in place to control and contain belligerent dirtbags while waiting for the cops to haul them away. Pin em down, hog tie them with zip ties and carry them to the loading dock for easy delivery to the paddy wagon?
