Color Change PPF on my "new" Diesel Cayenne

I'm buddies with the owner of Parks Car Care in Charlotte. Nick Parks, great young guy. He had wrapped a Tesla for SEMA on short notice last year in a somewhat new PPF technology. It is true paint protection film (self-healing, etc.) that allows you to change the color of the car. It is not plain old vinyl. I picked a low mileage diesel Cayenne out of Florida a few weeks back and Nick asked if I wanted to wrap it in Arctic Gray PPF. I said yeah, let's do it! Here's is where he is in the project. Really just the bumpers left to do. We're debating if we have them repainted before wrapping them in PPF as they were a little rougher than what the dealer pictures showed online.

He has a nice website as well.

I am going to try and stop by on my way back from SC next week and get more info.

That looks awesome!
Great color.

I would 100% daily drive that Cayenne - and the color is perfect!

Looks like Nick is killing it, too...

Looks amazing. At what point do they come from the factory like this? A base primer and then wrap it. Damage later? Easier fix. Want a color change, re wrap.

Yeah, not sure I will ever repaint a car, even an air-cooled 911. However, the PPF colors are still somewhat limited compared to vinyl.

My Cayenne will probably still be there. Also, Nick's not far from Hendrick Porsche - like 10 minutes. The 917 they have been housing should be back from Amelia by then. You could easily go by and check it out.

Excellent suggestion. I am going to call Parks before I go...I'm meeting a HS friend of mine for breakfast.

My LC is going to need some work and I want to look at the technique you are having done. It will be a few years before the move to SC and then I'll have it done.

Thanks for the thread!

Calling Nick first is a good plan. Speaking of the Hendrick Porsche 917, the owner (Dirk) asked me to follow him out of the Hanger Event tonight at Amelia Island as we're in the same transporter back to Charlotte. He wanted some extra tail lights and some buffer between the 917 and the random cars on the 1 1/2 mile drive. This was my view on our way out.

How much does this process cost for a vehicle this large ? And what is the expected longevity ? It looks great .

That PPF wrap does look stunning! I'd be tempted to do this to my 944 - but my guess is that the cost of having this done might approach the value of my car! Which begs the question for a DIY addict like myself...is this DIY-able?

We decided to repaint both bumpers, so we're at a pause. They'll get prepped and then shot on Thursday. Then they stay under curing lights for almost 36 hours and then wait another 36 hours. Nick will do the final polishing so it will be next week sometime before I can pick it up. Here's where it sits as of this morning. We actually wrapped all the the roof in panels gloss black PPF . We both think it looks kind of cool that way.

That looks great. I have the exact same Cayenne, even the color! If you don't mind, roughly what does it cost to have that done?

Not cheap. Like 8k without any kind of discount. But still way cheaper than a repaint. and I would argue it increases the car's its value, unlike a repaint. And per the installer an existing black car is the ideal color for this process, followed by white.
