Poor kid. He was mortified. Wonder why he gravitates towards comfort food?

My hat is off to that officer.

Unbelievable. The nonchalance and entitlement attitude. I could see that coming from an attractive woman but this chick is a pig. Wow. Just wow. What a *****.

Strange - usually the hot chicks are just given a warning and asked for their phone number.

I know what you mean Norm. If she was good looking the cop could have just done the usual checking the seatbelt tension across her chest then asked her to keep her speed under 100mph while in a 30mph zone.

I was curious if there was any more info. According to
https://tiremeetsroad.com/2023/02/07/happened-gays-mills-woman-arrested-driving-106-mph-30-mph-zone-coon-valley-vernon-county-wisconsin/

So McKaig stayed in jail for two months and has to pay a $384 fine on top of whatever her bail bond cost.
What is says is that she was fined $384 but hadn't yet paid any of it. I'm not expecting her to pay. Maybe she'll get hauled back to jail.

I guess she was late for school/work.

Speeding through Westby? There's a shortcut that bypasses Westby, no reason to drive through it. Saves you at least 5 minutes. That is, if you're driving the speed limit.

Where she got pulled over is a long time speed trap. Coon Valley keeps moving their town limit further and further out, to the point that you're expected to be going 30 about 1/2 mile out of town.

A co-worker lived in Coon Valley, until Coon Creek flooded and washed away part of his house. There were some dams upstream that washed out several years ago, they haven't been repaired, and now the creek floods part of the town all the time.

According to the court records, she still owes $359. So she's made one payment.

She’s speeding, she’s fat. So what?

I couldn’t get through it.

Did he need to throw her on the ground and handcuff her?

I think it's all because the cop had a process to follow and she wouldn't cooperate. He couldn't really say "Oh, OK, I guess you're right, have a nice day."

IDK if her attitude was one of entitlement or arrogance or maybe even one of such profound ignorance that she couldn't realize what a colossal cock up that was. 106 in a 30? Domed I tell ya.

Actually, the fact that she was fat had almost nothing to do with the video. The way that she was acting is the main point.

She was going 106 in a 30mph zone. Even if the area would have been better suited to be 45mph or even 55 mph, going 106 is going to get you the same result.
She was not cooperating with the cop (she refused to get out of the car, refused to take off her seat belt, etc...)
She tried to flee. While the cop was standing there, she tried to start the car and drive off. She managed to get the car started and get it in gear, but the cop was fast enough that she didn't get anywhere.
She was clearly resisting/refusing/not cooperating. She was under arrest, and to be arrested you get the cuffs. If she had cooperated, I'm fairly certain the cop wouldn't have put her on the ground. If you're acting like she was, there's a good chance that you're going to wrestle with the cop when he tries to cuff you. Putting you on the ground goes a long way to making that task more likely and less dangerous.

Frankly, I thought we were going to find out that she was whacked out on drugs. The way that she was acting, that's what I expected. No sane person behaves like that.

Per Rockfan, it's a speed trap, and based on the photo that he sent, it seems to be true, but at the same time, where the cop busted here definitely didn't look like it was a 100mph zone.

Absolutely. I have been known to misread speed limit signs at times, but I would NOT have been going 106 where she shot past that cop.

I thought the cop handled it well. At first I thought she was high too but quickly realized she was acting like an obnoxious 12 year old. Don’t comply…you can expect that kind of treatment.
