Sorry, just being nostalgic to when F1 was still a man's sport.

I think it had something to do with CCTV not working. Strange and sucking for fans and teams.

Any team copying it will be 2-3 months behind where Redbull are now.

Understand, but it still seems like it would be a help for floor concepts to try. Of course the floor is only one element of the overall car and it has to work in concert with everything else.

I recall a race where the CCTV went down and caused some delays, was that prior incident also in Montreal?

Anyone pick the Hulk being on the front row ? Tough conditions out there . Will be interesting if grid penalties are handed out .

That was for one of the red flags.
What about the other dozen?

Today Zhou Guanyu slowed and stopped off track,
nearly behind the fence.
The red flag came out instantly.

Several seconds later,
he hit the reset button and drove off
and was seen pulling into the pit.
The car was not a hazard
yet they continued the red flag.

If I didn't know better, I'd say someone was getting a kick back from the advertisers for additional "red flag commercials".

Hulk is now P5.

Kind of a BS penalty: for going **too slow** during the red flag! While not being a hazard to anyone else on the track. I wonder what Gunther thinks about these marshalls this weekend.

red 928 06-17-2023 11:11 PM

Yep, the stewards came right out and said the penalty
wasn't warranted but their hands were tied
because of the rules.

rfuerst911sc 06-18-2023 03:40 AM

So the Hulk , Tsunoda , Sainz and Stroll get grid penalties . That certainly shakes up the field . I hope Alonso gets the best launch of his career and can put some pressure on Max .

Will be interested to see if Ferrari can come up with another screwed up strategy call . Can Haas score points ? Can Albon ? Will Alpine show improvement ? What about Mercedes ?

URY914 06-18-2023 11:58 AM

Guess who won.

Great finish for Albon/Williams . Other than that it was a snooze fest . Haas better figure out their tire degradation . Logan Sargeant seems to be cursed as the car failed him today .

What prize are you offering? :D

Hey I was watching ESPN Grandstand today and it looked like a Formula 1 race in the back ground.

boring

stealthn 06-18-2023 07:42 PM

That car just can’t be aero advantage…

red 928 06-18-2023 10:55 PM

Ferrari executed a tire/pit strategy that was different
than the others, they pulled it off without mistakes,
and it worked well gaining them a strong advancement
in the finish.

The ESPN coverage was abysmal....I hope it was a 1 off trial

I'd love to see Albon in good car. He really seems to have the skills and if Lewis hadn't punted him a couple times, he'd have some better results and maybe a better team.

Rewatch the 2020 season. Albon didn't do well at all in the Red Bull.

There really has to be something about that car that's just so distinctly Verstappen that it completely messes with other drivers.

What F1 race brings more excitement than Montreal did? There was a bit of lawn mowing, pushing and shoving. Not as child like as the Indy Car infants but it wasn't a parade as most seem to be.

If you disregard Max (I did a long time ago), there was a race behind him. Several passes and if Alonso didn't keep you on the edge of your seat, no one will.

Captain Ahab Jr 06-19-2023 09:42 AM

200 wins for Adrian Newey, 100 wins for Red Bull Racing and 41 wins for Verstappen who is now has equal wins with Senna

Pretty astonishing numbers
