Horner and Marko,
Trouble brewing, might be messy. I imagine Horner will survive. Might not be good for Red Bull, though.

You did not specify what problems. But I can't imagine why the owner would mess with the dominate winning team setup, except maybe replace Perez.

The Red Bull owner died; there's a power struggle now between Marko and Horner to see who gets to be the decider. It was bound to break out into the open eventually, frankly I'm surprised it took this long. Marko has another year left on his contract.

I saw that Hamilton was fined 50K Euro for his stroll across the track after his crash. He is no rookie, and should know better. I guess his luck is normally for the other car to be taken out, and he keeps racing, so it was a different situation for him. He has just a handful of DNFs in his long career.

Horner runs the team, Marko runs young pilots, ruins careers, and makes racist comments now and then. I don't think that is even close.

Only problem is.......... losing. Remember the CART loser? Porsche doesn't like to lose and they will in F1.

One race in three years and it was in a March. They have rules in F1 too.

Interesting!
Someone on X just posted that the posters around COTA shows Felipe Drugovich instead of Lance Stroll with all the other drivers. |

Back when I was in my 20s I was driving my 914 as my daily driver and winning many autocrosses. I thought I was good. Then I did a track day with the Peachstate PCA and we drove Road Atlanta. I had done one session and felt like I was doing OK for a 95 HP street car. One instructor asked if I wanted any help, and he drove my car with me in it. On his first lap, he was two seconds faster than I was. He was 4 seconds faster after a few laps. I went out and tried his lines, and brake points, and I was faster than before, but never close to him. I knew then, I was not going to be a race car driver. I still have a blast on track. I would love to have a top pro drive my car with me in it, just to show me what my car can do. Not likely to ever happen. I still have fun, and that is all I really care about, and getting to drive it back home.

Not here. Not one bit. Not even a little.
There's a lot of Sennas out there that will never get a chance.

I agree with that also, but such is life. If American idol taught us anything, 20% of the population can sing ! 1% sound as good as Mariah Carey (or whoever) ;-) Some get lucky, some do not. Last edited by Deschodt; 10-19-2023 at 01:38 PM.. |

Half the field (maybe more) is paying to be there in some way not just Stroll. I saw a post earlier where he beat Russell I believe it was in junior categories.

Then, in the pits, I found out why when he pitched his custom Trans Am race-ready helmet on the ground and stopped it bouncing on the tarmac like a basketball with his foot. I drove the kart like it belonged to someone else and couldn't pay for it, whereas he drove like it would be someone else's problem if it went kablamo. You can see that today when an up and coming F1 shoe parks the car into the fence a couple of times. The pressure to not screw up causes more screw ups. The flip side to that potential, however, are people like Grosjean. Last edited by 917_Langheck; 10-19-2023 at 10:48 PM.. |

This morning I recorded what I thought was the F1 free practice 1.
Boy was I surprised that it was in fact the F1 academy which is apparently F1's version of the WNBA and is better than F2 and F3 which are based on old fashioned notions of driver performance and talent. No, the woke F1 academy obviously puts priority on gender and race. Just as it should be. F1 is finally starting to become a serious organization with good leadership and a future!!! Now they just need to get a some drivers who are transitioning. I can't remember ever witnessing a successful organization try so hard to commit suicide. |
