Insurance for multiple vehicles

My insurance is coming up for renewal and I was wondering what company gives the best rates for multiple vehicles?

Thee is no one company that fits everyone.

I use ANAPAC for my home, and three cars. My 911 and the El Camino have agreed value insurance. The Macan is just covered as a regular vehicle and is the most expensive to cover.

My wife and I both have pristine driving records. I have not had a ticket or accident since the 70s, and my wife has one minor accident back in the early 1980s and no tickets. That helps the rates a lot. I did hit a deer in the 911 back in 2007 and that is my only insurance claim.

The cool part of my insurance company is after 5 years of no claims, the mail me a check. The last one was over a grand.

We also have pristine records as well, no tickets. I also hit a deer in my MC40 but didn't submit a claim, I just fixed it my self - no body work per se just replaced the front valence and one head light.

All my insurance is coming up for renewal next month and I'm handing it all off to a broker who will shop for the best deal for me.

Additional discounts are typically offered if you combine auto and home coverage.

In March last year I shopped for coverage and we moved to a new company. In September, they cut 2 checks for a total of $32k to replace our 20 year old roof!

So I make my living selling insurance to businesses. You might think I had a good answer to this.

I don't.

I will say that my personal lines coverage is with Cincinnati. I consider them to be the best service / coverage / cost for me at this time. Claims service with Cincinnati is outstanding.

It is my opinion, that personal lines carriers increase premiums year over year and need to be pushed or shopped to combat that rate creep.

I work at a brokerage and we have many carriers - so we are able to play company A vs company B. I think this is a good strategy. But, I would also try a captive agent if you hear good things about them. Historically, State Farm was excellent. That may have slipped in the last few decades. I have also heard good reviews for USAA.

Summary: put some leg work in and see what happens.

A caution: Don't slash coverage in the pursuit of lower premium. You have something to lose with lower levels of coverage. Also, some carriers really do have poor claims advocacy.

I have USAA for everything. They used to be cheaper than anyone else. Not anymore. When it was exclusive to officers and senior enlisted, the rates stayed down. But then they opened it up to anyone in the military. Rates went up. I need to go see a broker and see if I can get a better deal with someone else.

Look for Triple-A rated companies.
I have a multi home-multi auto umbrella policy with AutoOwners.
No claimed accidents. Ever. Except for being boned by an angry LA truck driver on the Bay Bridge while stopped. No paper work or money exchanged. 2003ish.
Only one home ins claim in all my life because of a thieving scumbag who trashed the whole condo building and embezzled over $25k (grand larceny) while foreclosing units for $50 disputed fees.
They've been good but not necessarily the cheapest. I haven't found the need to shop around.
Michigan auto Insurance is the highest in the nation i think.

I was just outside of San Luis Obispo, California, and at 10:00 AM a deer was laying down on the side of the road. I was not going fast at all, and slowed down even more when I saw her. She jumped up and a blink of an eye ran right toward me, and tried to come through the windshield. She crushed in the hood, broke the crest, smashed the windshield, and left hoof prints in both headlight rings. and broke one fog light.

My insurance provider did not blink. I got three estimates from high end body shops, and took it to the guy I know that specializes in old Porsches. It told him make it look like it did before minus the rock chips. He did. It was just the ultimate bug hit - rock chip. I had a lot of fun driving through LA with a windshield that was broken in many places. In San Diego I found a glass shop to come put in a new windshield, and I drove it home to be fixed.

I tried to help mom with insurance for going to the nearby store. That's about it.

AAA offered full coverage with apartment insurance for $100 less than Geico comprehensive.

There was some mix-up with needing her additional Medicare information and she went back without my knowledge.
I scanned and emailed and spoke with Geico reps about 2-3 times that their information was complete and that coverage was as is.
Verbal contract not valid. "Yes. Yes. Everything is set and good to go as is"
Then they started sending her additional bills which she paid.
Elderly fraud.

+1

With their opening up to the most junior of enlisted they changed the pool of insured to include 18 year olds that are high risk. We all pay for them now.

Plus they have gotten out over their skis by having real estate, other financial services, PET insurance. And they sponsor all kinds of sporting events and pay big money to people like that Gronk guy (no idea who he is).

One of these days I will shop around.

Almost forgot that they had some anniversary bash last summer and they had John Mayer headline their party (members not invited). I'm sure that didn't cost too much

I have Nationwide for home, auto, and umbrella. Pretty good rate on that. I looked around but could not find anything that made it worth switching. I did move the pcar and muscle car to Hagerty and I cut my premiums by almost 2/3.

We’ve had Geico Insurance covering our cars, house, and umbrella policy for seven years. Our umbrella and homeowners insurance has stayed steady, but our three vehicle insurance rates have crept up. They were $325 a month and going up to $400 next month for some reason. No tickets or accidents in the last seven years.

I started looking around and found that multiple insurance companies (Allstate, State Farm, etc.) would not cover our house, because we’re near the coast. Looked at Progressive and they covered the house, umbrella and car insurance was $660 for six months. The house and umbrella policies were a wash. For auto insurance, $340 a month versus $660 for six months was a huge savings.

Edit. Our newest vehicle is a 2014 F150. Next is a 2010 Tahoe and then my 2005 BMW 330. So it’s not like we had new and expensive cars to insure.

I have the four vehicles listed below insured by State Farm. Also, my home and property insurance is through them.

My monthly payment is $239.70 for all.
I am happy with that.
