^Thanks. I'm going to have a beer to celebrate.
Gas level working again. CEL is still not working. But, is that a bad thing? How many times in my life have I just wanted the CEL to go away. I feel like the kid in home alone wishing his parents away. Perhaps car is saying "you never paid attention to the CEL for the last 260k, why bother now? Perhaps it's a secret level of car ownership that gets unlocked once you've replaced everything. The CEL simply goes away. ![]() I do want to thank everyone (again) for the help. Especially with the simple idea of a compression check. The mechanic who told me it had 50-80 psi in 2018 is a talented high end mechanic. I don't know what happened there, but ive been terrified to do a compression check since, feeling like I was running on borrowed time. I fixed the car back then on a gut instinct. Recently, the low MAF signals, missing at idle, lack of negative pressure on the pcv was all adding up in my head, especially since I had replaced all of that before. Coming clean before you guys forced me to get off my arse, face my compression fears, and see what it really was. Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 03-11-2023 at 03:02 PM.. |

CEL 'on briefly' when you start the car indicates the ECU is 'working'. Beyond that, it's annoying. Unless it should be flashing and the bulb is effed.
Your engine is probably about 240,000 miles from being mildly worn out.

One thing, high end techs don’t rely on compression numbers alone, but start with leak down. Preferably with engine cold.
Glad you got it going…
