A pheasant afternoon on the side of the road
Channeling my inner turtle guy
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I did skip the pics of the pheasants that had been hit by cars. Apparently, pheasants should be avoiding the side of the road or any other part of the road. Sometimes, they even end up in the middle of the road. ![]()

Beautiful birds..esp the roosters.
At one time, we had lots of them around here. Now, the turkeys are everywhere. Not sure if they crowded the pheasants out or they are still around, but way over-numbered.

I see more turkeys around her now too
Pheasants are smarter and craftier than turkeys though.

Almost everything is smarter than a turkey. Well maybe some of the folks in PARF could challenge that.

I started hunting them w/ a single shot 16ga. when I was 12. I've been told not as many in the home State. No more brushy fence lines and the corn rows are planted too close to walk.
