The first movie I really remember was, “The Wizard of Oz”.

Watched it with my sisters at home.

After the Wicked Witch showed up I watched from underneath the covers.

The monkeys scared the #$% out of me. Grandparents lived in hampton roads. We'd spend the weekend there, drive home to Richmond on Sunday, and fire up the TV just in time to catch the monkeys. The wicked witch was an old hag. Now that I'm an old fart, I think she's kind of hot.

We used to go to the local drive-in when I was young. I'm sure we saw other stuff first, but the first one I can think of was "A Hard Day's Night." I was 7-8 years old and my brother 3-4.

The first movie I saw in a theater was "Old Yeller" at the Murphy theater in Wilmington, Ohio. That was in 1957 so I would have been 7 years old.
A few years later we moved to a farm that was only about a mile out of a town with a small movie theater. My brother and I would walk into town to see the movies. Our folks gave each of us 35 cents - a quarter for the movie, and a nickle each for a candy bar and a Coke. We saw Onion Head, Bombers B-52, No Time for Sergeants, Teenagers from Outer Space, Return of the Fly... for about a year and a half we saw a movie every week. Now I'm in a movie theater about once every 5 years.

Can't remember my first movie but vividly remember the first time I saw color TV. Probably 1960, we had black and white like everyone but a wealthier family invited us over to watch Wizard of Oz. I thought it wasn't different from our TV until Dorothy landed in Oz and the movie went color. I thought I was going to pee my pants. Color TV!
I also remember nightmares of the flying monkeys
