Do you have a favorite "Double Album"?
Back in the glory days of vinyl, the double album was part of the culture. There were lots to choose from, but frankly, many of them were comprised of a few decent songs and then double the usual casual filler. However, there were a few gems, albums where you would listen to all 4 sides and never be disappointed. (And the cover was often a useful way to separate hard, waste organic matter from soft, useful bits that could be enjoyed while listening)
So, in the spirit of the "best rock and roll track" that Baz posted, do you have a favorite double? It can be rock and roll, blues, country, soft pop, metal - whatever floats your boat. After sleeping on this subject, I decided that Physical Graffiti is my favorite. Every side has multiple songs that I really, really like, and some of the tracks are stone cold classics. (Fun fact, the building on the cover of the record is the same building that Mick and Keef used as a backdrop in their music video "Waiting on a Friend")

It is. There was a post in the other thread about favorite r&r song and I completely spaced on Bad Company.
I can't find the old video the F-14 folks did to that track, but it is great.

I mentioned Layla .... and not my long gone yellow Lab either .... RIP girl
![]() About the time Filmore East came out .... around '72-early '73, I acquired my first 8-track player, and an Allman tape called "Beginnings", which was their first two studio albums released as one double. Endless tape loop through headphones .... all night ling ![]() Then I got the live one! A '70 Cougar with a 351 (my dad's)... I installed a Pioneer Supertuner 8-track, Jensen Triaxials, and a CB radio .... celebrated a 200 bday.... And Frampton Came Alive ![]() |

Back in the day, Frampton Comes Alive.
Newest one, Eagles - Long Road Out of Eden. I tend to listen to ZZ Top - One Foot in the Blues an awful lot. Can’t recall if it’s two discs, think it might be. |
