Help. What Omega Watch is this?

My stepdad gave it to me years ago. When I wear it, I think about him. I miss the man.

Anyways. We always thought we would remove a bunch of links and my wife would wear it. But she likes her tech-watch.

It’s cool looking and keeps time. Bracelet is solid and not stretched out.

It’s vintage looking to me.

Anything about the Cosmic 2000 I should know?

I have a newer Seamaster I bought 20 years or so ago. I never take it off except when it gets serviced.

Judging from the dial, early 70s. Most any Omega of that time period is an excellent timekeeper as long as it’s had a couple of services since then. Great mid range utilitarian watch! I’m partial to the Seamasters myself.

I have the 1963 model. Good shape but not serviced in too long. Can't afford service for a $600 watch. Last value I knew and no one gets retail when selling. More like half. So the service could equal the value.

Are you sure it’s only worth $600? Most Omega Seamasters from that era would be worth more.

Could have appreciated, I don't keep track. I have another Omega as well, my dad's. Nicer watch and the band is worth a lot to replace. I don't know why a band is 200. Again, old number.

My guess is it's worth at least a few thousand bare minimum, but I'm not that up on current watch values. It could be closer to 10x what you're thinking or even more since it's old.

OK, I had to look at the bay, completed listings. No date function, '63 Seamaster $700 all day long. (average, some with date function are near 2K, some, not that many).

My dad's has the date. Not a Seamaster either, but I'm not going to go find it.

Update: Yeah I think my dad's is a gold Constellation with a gold band. Good money there.

not necessarily they made a ton of omegas in that era, particularly as seamasters.

I have a mint 67 "sparkle dial" seamaster day date original everything, I paid 900$ for a decade ago. Probably worth Maybe 1200 these days and one of the more desirable 60s seamasters.

Older omegas are fine watches and can be had reasonable for many of them. Most are quite small and don't sell for a ton (but still cool). I have an absolutely mint untouched dial 1951 omega jumbo (38mm) waffle dial. I paid 2500$ for it pre covid and it is solid 18k gold.


OPs posted watch is a bit different as it is a bezeled dive watch which is super hot the last decade and they go for a fair bit

Pie Pan Constellation in solid gold is fairly desirable

Omega is a watch with OCD. They're all over the map with their style.

Watches are funny. Many times I won't like a brand just because of the name. Tag Heuer reminds me of K-Mart for some reason and I don't like them.

Omega name is boring and there are just as good watches for half the price.

Sinn has a great name and look and story. Helmut Sinn was a Luftwaffe bomber pilot and survived the war. He started his watch company when he wasn't happy with the watches available at the time. They were hard to read so he focused on making his watches easy to read.

I wear my U1 while riding a motorcycle and driving at night on long road trips. I can always tell the time with a quick glance.
